Treasure hunter seeks owner of old medal
Last summer, Reiss found an old U.S. Army service Medal on his sister’s front lawn in Sandwich. The medal reads: “Freedom from Fear and Want, Freedom of Speech and Religion, 1941-45.” Reiss is hoping to find the rightful owner and return it to them.

Archaeologists believed to have uncovered palace of Anglo-Saxon royals who buried their dead at historic Sutton Hoo after illegal treasure hunters stumbled across the site
The capital of the Anglo-Saxon kings buried at Sutton Hoo may have been uncovered in farmland close to the famous burial mounds.
Archaeologists believe a royal settlement once spread across more than 100 acres of what is now farmland at Naunton Hall in Rendlesham near Woodbridge, Suffolk.
They say it included a wooden palace which would have been used by King Raedwald and other Anglo-Saxon rulers of Norfolk and Suffolk between the 6th and 9th Centuries. 1919 Wheat Penny and Truck
I detected around an old foundation in the woods that sat next to a fork in a creek. I found the usual farm junk, but I was also lucky enough to find this Tootsie Toy Truck. The Truck is a model ’49 Ford, but this particular truck dates after 1955.
The earlier models of this truck had closed fender wells. I actually found one of the earlier ones a couple years back. Read more…
