A Few Household Cleaning Tips

These are small tips that make a big difference in my home. So from my home to yours:

Put citrus fruit peels in the garbage disposal to freshen up. I love the way grapefruit peels make the kitchen smell. It is a strong fragrance and I've received comments on it. People walk in and say how good my house smells. I love that!

To clean the microwave you simply add a few teaspoons of lemon juice or sliced lemons to a cup of water and nuke it for 3 minutes. I let it sit for 10 minutes and wipe it clean. It comes clean very easily. No more elbow grease, trust me. I have carpal tunnel syndrome and my scrubbing days are over.

I make my own Daily Shower Spray. Take 1 cup of vinegar, 1/4 c. Jet Dry, add a squirt of dish soap such as Dawn, add this all to a 32 oz. spray bottle, top it off with water. When you get out of the tub or shower, just spray it down for 30 seconds and walk away. You may never get down on your knees again and scrub. I am 9 months pregnant and found this solution for the montonous scrubbing I can no longer do. My bathrooms are pretty squeaky clean.

The point is, you don't have to spend alot of money when the items are either in your house or very inexpensive at the store. I am all about being natural, and it is good for the kids, the planet, and the pocketbook. It just feels right. It also doesn't have to take all day to clean your house. I used to clean all day, and that was a waste of time and a life I could have been living otherwise. I clean daily, yes I do, but not for long. I have a life to live!
