Bowling

I'm not sure why my wife calls this a hobby. For me, it's a way of life. Maybe it's the competitiveness in me. I bowl on two big money leagues, Wednesday night doubles, and a Friday night five men team at East Islip Lanes on Long Island in New York. I've been Bowling for 8 years. When I started I did not know the difference between a conventional bowling ball, and a finger tip ball. Most recreational bowlers will grab any ball off the alley rack while renting house shoes, which is ok if your there to have fun every now and then, but for me, that wasn't going to fly. I took it serious from the start. I purchased my our shoes, and my first finger tip bowling ball. Let me tell you, it was something to get used to. It felt like it wanted to fall off my hand at release. So I practiced, and practiced, and practiced. I was getting pretty good. So I decided to join my first league 8 years ago, I did ok averaging 179.
So her I am 8 years later, averaging 210. I've gone through many different brands of bowling balls from Ebonite to Hammer to Track. I have bowled two 300's, two 299's, one 298, a few 297's, and a couple of 290's. All in all not to bad, although a few more 300's and a couple of 800 series would be nice.
