A few recipes for homemade insecticides

Insecticides are one of the things that all of us will need at one point in our life regardless of what we really think of them. However, if you are reluctant to use insecticides because you never know how safe they really are, keep in mind that there are easy recipes that you can use in order to make homemade and completely natural insecticides that are as Efficient as the ones that you can get in the stores.

The best thing about it is that the ingredients that are used in these recipes are the ingredients that you probably already have in your garden or somewhere around the house. Also, if it possible, it is best to use distilled or filtered water or even rain water. Keep in mind that chlorinated water will not be as efficient because it will make the insecticide less efficient by destroying microbial activity.

For the first recipe that you can make, you will need garlic cloves (3 ounces), Mineral Oil, some water (1 pint) and Liquid Dish soup (2 capfuls). Cut the garlic cloves into small pieces, put them in mineral oil and leave them there for about 24 hours. After that, take the water and pour the dish soup in it. Add the mixture to the mineral oil with garlic and you will get a homemade garlic spray that will be extremely efficient when it comes to dealing with all sorts of insects.

If you are looking for the most efficient ways to keep your garden pests free, there are two recipes which can help a lot. For the first one, put some vinegar in a pot and place it on a medium heat to boil. When it starts boiling, add lavender, geranium, thyme leaves and rosemary. Leave it to boil for a few seconds. After that, the mixture should be left aside for 24 hours. The last step involves isolating the leaves from the mixture and tossing them over the garden soil. Instead of all this, you can try another recipe which includes hot peppers and which is perfect for bugs. Cut 2 peppers into small pieces, blend them with some water (about 2 cups) and some Liquid Dish Soap (a few drops).

In case mosquitoes are what you are interested in getting rid of, there are excellent sprays that can be made very easily, in only a few steps. In order to make the first one, use an empty spray and fill it with some water and a few drops of liquid Dish Soap. Believe it or not, this makes a very efficient spray that will get rid of those annoying mosquitoes without a doubt. Another thing that you can try is using vodka and some cedarwood Essential Oil or instead of this type of oil, you can also use citronella essential oil.
