With the exciting 2018 Winter Olympics coming to a close today, we can all breath a hopeful sigh of relief that the worst of the wardrobe malfunctions is now over. After figure skaters Gabriella Papadakis and Yura Min both braved their worst possible performance nightmares come true with grace and focus (second to a fall) when each of their costumes came undone exposing some or all of their womanly parts to the millions of viewers watching live worldwide,  the only question that remained on the minds of seamstresses and costume designers who viewed this Fashion Faux Pas is ….

“Where was the back up double sided body dressing tape?!” 

A must have for any garment design that lends to the exposure of otherwise ‘private’ body parts, body dressing Tape is a double-sided adhesive tape used to secure the edges of a strapless dress or top to the cleavage or side of the breasts or on shoulders to secure bra straps from slipping in order to keep the item of clothing in place and to avoid a wardrobe malfunction such as what we saw during the ice skaters performances.  Also referred to as toupee tape, fashion tape, lingerie tape or wig tape, it’s use as a back up on both of these unsuspecting performers’ seemingly safe costumes could have been the difference between their respective scores and the gold medal.

Kudos to these fabulous fires on ice and their partners for seeing their routines through and much success to all the Olympic participants as they each continue to pursue their athletic careers after the games are done. For today’s final Olympic 2018 events, check out the time schedule below:
