Relax… Betty’s Burgers is in Melbourne now

After discovering the joys of Betty’s Burgers on holidays to Noosa I was pretty excited to hear Betty’s has opened up in Melbourne now.  Even in Melbourne’s (much!) colder climate Betty’s Melbourne store still retains a tropical holiday feel thanks to the colourful tiling in shades of blue, comfy aqua cushioned chairs and big glass windows that slide open onto the street.

The burgers are better at Betty’s!

Betty’s Burgers bears a very strong resemblence to Shake Shack in the United States. I’m a Shake Shack fan so see this as a good thing.  In my view the burgers are a notch above other Melbourne competitors (here’s looking at you Royal Stacks).

Betty’s Burgers is now open in Melbourne

I’m a fan of the Betty’s Classic ($10) is Betty’s version of a cheeseburger with a juicy meat pattie, crisp lettuce and slightly melted cheese.  It’s on the smaller size but it’s a well balanced burger and the freshness of the ingredients used is really impressive.

The classic Betty’s Burger

I never thought I would say this but the mushroom burger ($12) is also seriously good.  That’s probably akin to blasphemy to burger aficionados but the huge mushroom which is crumbed and then deep fried works really well as a burger.  This could be my new go to.

The mushroom burger may be my new favourite

Betty’s Burgers chips are french fry style and crispy and I should also mention the “concrete” ice-cream concoctions in particular the lemon raspberry cheesecake ($8) one which has actual chunks of pastry in adding texture to the dessert.

Love a concrete at Betty’s Burgers

Who needs a visit to Noosa anymore? Well ok I’ll still go but just for the sunshine not the burgers.

Gourmet Chick has visited Betty’s Burgers several times independently and was also invited to its Melbourne launch.
