Introduction


AIIMS 2019 is a national-level medical entrance exam for admissions to various Aiims institutions. Apart from JIPMER entrance exams, AIIMS is the only institute to have the authority of conducting a separate entrance exam than NEET. AIIMS MBBS 2019 will be conducted by its own governing body, under the administration of AIIMS, New Delhi. This exam is a gateway for admission to nearly 700 seats in the 07 AIIMS located in New Delhi, Bhopal, Bhubaneshwar, Patna, Jodhpur, Rishikesh and Raipur. The official notification for AIIMS 2019 can be expected to be released around December 2018.

AIIMS 2019 Exam Date


AIIMS 2019 exam date is yet to be announced. In the last few years, the exam was in the last weekend of May. So, we can expect AIIMS 2019 exam to be around the last week of May, 2019.

Mode of Answering


AIIMS entrance exam 2019 will be a computer based test (CBT) with objective type questions displayed on a computer.

Medium of Examination


The questions can be viewed in English as well as Hindi during the AIIMS 2019 exam.

However, the candidate must have registered his/her choice during the application stage. There is no provision for regional languages.

AIIMS 2019 Eligibility Criteria


The eligibility criteria for AIIMS UG 2019 exam has been described below:

Nationality


The candidate must belong to either of the following categories:

  • Indian National
  • NRI (Non-Resident Indians)
  • OCI Overseas Citizen of India)
  • Foreign National (only applicable for AIIMS, New Delhi)

Age


The candidate must be 17 years old or more (as of 31st December 2019).

Educational Qualifications


The candidate must have passed 10+2 or an equivalent qualifying examination from a recognised board.

The candidate must have passed 10+2 with English, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology as compulsory subjects. The minimum aggregate marks of these subjects should be:

  • 60% for GEN & OBC categories
  • 50% for SC/ST/PWBD

How to apply for AIIMS 2018?


Candidates can only apply online for AIIMS 2018. AIIMS committee doesn’t entertain any form of offline application.

The portal is currently not open; it is expected to open around the 1st week of February 2019.

AIIMS 2019 Admit Card


AIIMS admit card 2019 can be downloaded from the website in the first week of May 2019.

It is available only on the official website, which can be accessed upon entering the login credentials.

AIIMS Exam Pattern 2019


AIIMS MBBS 2019 exam will be of three hours and thirty minutes.

It will have 200 objective type questions, under the sections of Physics, Chemistry, Biology, General Knowledge, and Aptitude.

The section-wise mark distribution is as follows:

Out of the 180 questions in the first three sections, 60 would be of Reason/Assertion type whereas all the other 140 questions are of MCQ type.

Marking Scheme is as below:

  • Correct Answer: One mark (+)1
  • Incorrect Answer: Minus one-third (−)1/3
  • Unanswered / Marked for Review: 0

AIIMS 2019 Results


The final result for AIIMS UG 2019 is expected to be published on the website around the third week of June 2019. 

Counselling


AIIMS UG Admission 2019 is through a multi-phase counselling conducted online by the AIIMS, New Delhi.

The first phase is likely to take place for four days in the first week of July, 2019.

The second phase is likely to take place in the first week of August and if required, the third phase will be conducted in the first week of September.

If there are any vacancies afterwards, an open counselling will be held in the last week of September 2019.

For the admission process, the qualified candidates must carry the following documents:

  1. Certificate of 10+2 or equivalent Examinations.
  2. AIIMS 2019 Score Card.
  3. Class 10th Mark Sheet/ Passing certificate for DOB.
  4. Migration Certificate from the University/Board last attended by the candidate.
  5. Category Certificate (if applicable)
