5 “Healthy Food” To Should Avoid

5 “Healthy Food” To Should Avoid

Low-Fat Peanut Butter

According to LiveScience, the oils found in peanuts and tree nuts are the healthiest part of the nut. Unfortunately, low fat Peanut Butter removes the majority of these healthy oils yet the product contains the same amount of sugar as regular peanut butter. Low fat peanut butter or any sort of reduced fat peanut product removes all the health benefits from the peanuts. Instead, you should buy regular peanut butter and enjoy in moderation.

Vitamin Water

Over the last decade, we have seen the emergence of vitamin water and other enhanced water products which promise plenty of nutrients. Unfortunately, these products are just water with a lot of sugar and a vitamin compound. A recent study by the Iowa Women’s Health Study found that these commonly used enhanced drinks were detrimental to health in the long term. These products have a high sugar content and some contain stimulants that are detrimental to your health.

Baked Chips

Many people believe that Baked Chips are a healthy alternative to regular chips, however this is a misconception. Many of these products contain additional starch, which adds plenty of calories to your diet. Research has shown that plenty starch increases your risk of heart disease, cancer, diabetes and weight gain. Instead, look for chips that are 100-percent whole grain as these products have less starch than baked or low-fat chips.

Multigrain Foods

If you’re in the grocery store and see the word “multigrain” you may think that the product represents a healthy food item however this is another misconception. The food that you’re looking for is actually “whole grain.” Like baked chips, multigrain means additional starch. Wholegrain foods will help lower cholesterol and lowers the risk of cardiovascular disease.

Fat-Free Dressing

According to research conducted by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, fat-free dressing consists of additional sugar and fillers that make the dressing very unhealthy. Even though the product may contain less fat, you’re getting the same amount of calories and refined sugars as regular dressing which makes the product very unhealthy.
