Bodybuilding and steroidsseem to be perpetually linked together by critics although this isn’t the case at all. The best bodybuilders are the ones who managed to attain well-developed muscles without the help of any enhancing drugs. So who exactly are they? Although it would be hard to verify information and pin down a list of criteria that needs to be followed, following are some of the best bodybuilders today that can be judged based on data about them available to the public.






Arnold Schwarzenegger
There’s no question that Arnold deserves a spot in the top bodybuilders of all time, winning the Mr. Olympia contest not once but SEVEN times. He was also named the Best-Built Athlete in 1966 and moved on to win awards including:

·       1966 International Powerlifting Championship
·       1968 German Powerlifting Championship
·       1970 AAU Pro Mr. World
·       NABBA Mr. Universe, 3 times

Born July 30 1947, Arnold’s bodybuilding career led him to acting and politics. His strongest assets were his arms which reached a stunning 22 Inches matched with thighs that measured 28.5 inches. His chest and waist sizes were also impressive, measuring at 57 inches and 33 inches respectively. Nicknamed “The Austrian Oak”, his form was well defined with a streamlined midsection and abs.


Dorian Yates
Dorian Yates
Nicknamed “The Shadow”, Dorian Yates was born April 16, 1962 and managed to grab the IFBB Mr. Olympia title SIX times from 1992 to 1997. Other awards under his bodybuilding belt include:

·       British Championships, 2 times
·       1991 Night of Champions
·       Grand Prix, 8 times

Yates is probably one of the most recognizable faces in bodybuilding thanks to his near-perfect form. Aside from his size, Yates also presented a perfectly-detailed body with all the striations at the right place. His best feature was his back with its highly defined muscles and the chest measuring 60 inches. His arms were pumped up at 22 inches, waist at 34 inches and thighs at 32.

Ronnie Coleman
Dubbed simply as “Ronnie”, this guy from Monroe, USA managed to bag the IFBB Mr. Olympia award a total of 7 times from 1998 to 2005. His arm size topped the record set by both Yates and Arnold by 2 inches while his waist size was an impressive 36 inches. The chest measured at 58 inches while his calves were set at 22 inches. Other titles under his name include:

·       2000 World Pro Championships
·       2001 Arnold Schwarzenegger Classic
·       Canada Pro Cup, 2 times
·       Grand Prix, 10 times

Of course, those are only three of the best bodybuilders today. Other popular names in the industry include Steve Reeves, Franco Columbu, Ray Cutler and Sergio Olivia. Note that professional bodybuilding and steroids are not allowed so the names mentioned above have attained their sculpted bodies through sheer hard work and genetics.
