A gofundme page has been set up to ask for your support in helping fund the new Food & Medicine Education Garden to be grown and managed by Jessica Morgan, herbalist and horticulturist in Loveland, Colorado. As many of you know, my lifes work is about creating garden based education that fosters biodynamic food and medicine growing, foraging and permaculture, as well as sustainability, nutritional therapy and medicinal herb use to benefit the community and anyone who wants to learn about food as medicine. I care about promoting a farm-to-medicine-chest movement in my community and beyond. Your donation will help me help Loveland and will be used to get the garden up and running as quickly as possible. I am hoping to have some teaching gardens available to the community in the 2016 growing season. I'm in the process of buying a house with land where I can grow my dream teaching garden; Casa Botanica- A Food & Medicine Education Garden. Here I will teach, run a nursery and operate a commonwealth apothecary. I’m proud to serve my community by inspiring and empowering people to reconnect with the wonders of the plant kingdom.
This urban land will be an educational environment with food gardens and dozens of medicinal plants, many of which are bioregional and native. Morgan Botanicals School of Creative Herbalism and teaching gardens will also serve to provide free seed and potted plants to local community gardens, nonprofit youth gardening programs, and be a resource to the city, gardeners, herbalists and homesteaders. Through these gardens I will be able to educate about herbalism, horticulture, horticultural therapy, herb farming, propagation, permaculture, entomology, medicine garden tourism, rooftop garden education, herbal product manufacturing, herbal csa, small business education and so much more.
