Gymboss!

Remember from a previous post that I won a new Gymboss?  No?  Shame on you!  Go back and read about it.  Anyhoos, for those of you who did read about my exciting win, I just received my Gymboss, thanks to Susan over at Catapult Fitness.  It took minutes to set up and it is so easy!  I took it to the gym the other night where I did some supersets and finished up with cardio.  I used the Gymboss during my warm  up planks.  I was able to set it for 40 second planks and 20 second rests.  Believe me, the planks seem to go faster when I could just stare off into space, taking my mind off the pain, rather than clock watching.  Haven’t you ever heard, a watched pot never boils?

At the end of the workout, me and my new friend (yes my friend – I LOVE gadgets) went over to the elliptical to end off my workout with some HIIT, 30 seconds on, 30 seconds off.  I was able to program how many sets so I didn’t have to keep track of anything.  I suppose  for us with lazy minds, the Gymboss is a huge benefit.  You don’t have to worry about hearing it either.  The beep was loud enough others in the gym had to look where it was coming from.  It also has a vibration mode.  I just set mine on the elliptical and off we went.

Ok, so you get the idea.  I love my new toy!

That brings up to today.  I just got back from a group GFC workout.  I was pretty whooped today.  Thankfully no nausea this time but still, my energy was way down.  My breakfast was Quaker oatmeal with extra fiber.  Right before I went to the gym, I had one piece of whole grain bread with peanut butter.  I thought that would have carried me through; I’m thinking I should have at least thrown in an egg or two.

I stepped on the gym’s scale today, and I have gained back 3.5 pounds that I have lost.  Sure, you can tell me muscle weighs more than fat, but I know the truth.  The reality is, I have had one too many Halloween candies, not big enough breakfasts, and lunches have been quick.  By looking at my food log, I need to be eating more, and I don’t mean more Tootsie rolls.  Besides that, it seems my metabolism was just starting to kick into gear after 9 weeks of running and now that I have had to stop, I hit a brick wall.  I’m hoping to get my sneakers next week and be back on “track.”

How about a question to ponder for the day:  What have YOU done for your body today?  I would love to hear all about it!
