A Resource For Veterans On Remembrance Day

Lockwood Animal Rescue Center is in Frazier Park, California and has a unique Program called Warriors and Wolves.  This program recognizes the similarities between the role of wolves in the wild, and the role of soldiers both on the battlefield and in society.  According to their website, they have observed over the years that a wolf who has suffered a trauma will often gravitate towards a veteran who has suffered a similar trauma, and a powerful and healing bond for both man and beast is formed.

A beautiful video on YouTube, which you can watch by copying and pasting this link into your browser, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q8cdwwgr48w, shows the primal, beautiful relationships between these hurting soldiers and their wild friends.   One can only hope that these men, changed forever by what they have seen and done, unable to talk about much of it if not most it, can find some peace and perhaps even a little bit of hope that life, though it will never again be the same after the personal horrors of war, might become liveable once again.

For all Veterans reading this:  I honor your service and pray for your healing.
