A Social Media Guide to Your Wedding

Congratulations, you’re getting married! You may not have given much thought as to how Social Media can make a difference to your special day, and yet, unless you stipulate a complete ban on the use of mobile phones there’s little doubt that photographs and comments will be posted across various social media networks by your wedding guests.

However, if you’re not up to scratch with tweeting, Snapchat, Instagram and Facebook you don’t need to worry too much as the infographic below gives you an insight on how you can use the social media networks to your advantage.

For example, you could save time, paper and money by giving your guests the opportunity to reply to their invitation via social media. Many guests will thank you for adding 21st century touches such as this, as it will make their lives easier too, but don’t rely solely on social media for your RSVP invitations as there may be some people who prefer to remain with traditional methods.

You could also save money on your wedding outfit and accessories as most of the big brands are on social media, which means you’ll be able to snap up special offers and put the money you’ve saved towards your honeymoon!

During your big day you have the option of asking guests not to post any photographs or make comments online if you want to keep things completely private. Alternatively, if you have no objections let guests be as snap happy as they want, but ask them to make their posts private rather than being open to view by anyone. Create a simple hashtag so that you can easily keep track of any photos that guest have taken.
