Laser Hair Removal – FAQ Special

Why is laser a good option for hair removal?

Lasers offer a long lasting and even sometimes permanent solution to dark unwanted Hair. Traditional hair removal methods such as shaving, waxing, tweezing, threading and epilating provide only temporary results.

How do lasers remove hair?

The laser emits a specially configured light that is absorbed by the pigment in the hair follicle (hence why dark hair work best as it absorbs the light more easily). The light is converted to heat energy, which collapses the hair follicle.

Is it painful?

The laser handpiece has a contact cooling system built in which helps to eliviate discomfort during treatment. Clients liken the feeling of the laser to repeated light flicks, however, many say that it is less painful than waxing, electrolysis and tweezing.

What areas of the body can be treated?

Our Hair Removal Lasers can treat nearly any area of the body except for the area immediately on or around the eye.

How long does a treatment take?

This depends on individual and the size of the treatment area. As a general rule, legs and backs take an hour to an hour and a half, while the upper lip or chin may require 15 minutes to half an hour.

How many treatments will I need?

Hair grows in cycles, can only be treated with laser in the actively growing period of the cylce. This means we have to wait for this part of the cycle to come around before treatment. Treatments are spaced out over the cycle, with each treatment reducing overall hair growth. Each individual is unique in terms of number of treatments needed, but a good average is around 8-10 treatments, although please note that some people needed less and some more.
