The Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) Office of Inspector General  announced it will review Health Homes program, an optional Medicaid benefit for patients with chronic conditions, BNA reported.

The New York Times takes a look at families affected by Alzheimer’s disease.

“Donna MacInnes first noticed that something was wrong with her husband, John, when he accidentally knocked her over with a golf cart,” one story read. “He was not normally prone to such carelessness, so Ms. MacInnes asked her physician about it. Soon after, Mr. MacInnes was told he likely had Alzheimer’s disease.”

Referral sources to home health care agencies are protected legitimate business interests, according to the Florida Supreme Court. The decision means agencies in the state with the proper non-compete agreements no longer have to fear employees leaving and taking their referrals to other home health care providers.

The fight against the Home Health Groupings Model (HHGM) ramped up as industry associations headed to Capitol Hill to address the issue with regulators.
