Beautiful People On Tour

Five years ago today I lost a very precious friend and sister.
Its odd because I think of her every day - at least once, but there is something about anniversaries.
There has been a heaviness of Heart, a sort of exhaustion that is unlike anything but grief.
I remember the phone call... my friend Hanne speaking norweigan and the short shocked words that followed.
The strange thing is I knew something horrible had happened to EJ before the phone rang.
I cant explain it.
The manner of her death... angels should always fly never fall.
The memories of today and the days that followed five Years Passed though heavy and bringing with them an exhaustion that hasnt lessened in these five years passed - these memories bring me to a place where I allow myself to think long about the beautiful woman that I was blessed to call my friend.

Elin Julie was the eternal child.
No matter how many english swear words we taught her, or how many strange alcoholic drinks she tried for the first time she remained innocent.
That is how I still think of her - beautiful innocent blonde angel.
She was intelligent, more so that she would give herself credit for.
And so artistic and creative - her work was magnificent and her eyes could twist beauty from dirt.
And her heart
her beautiful kind gentle heart.
Sometimes I have felt her in my sadness.
Her touch is there in the cat who softly kneads my shoulders or the dog who laps tears from my cheeks all big eyed and concerned.
There are times in life when you meet someone and you know you'll be together forever.
I wasnt wrong.

There are things that bind stronger than flesh.
There are ribbon necklaces with angel charms that EJ made seven years ago and gave to each of the sisterhood.
There are words written down by Rachel somewhere that I will never forget
"we are a dysfunctional family who know only to love"
and there is love itself
the pieces of our hearts that she keeps in hers
and the pieces of her heart that we keep in ours
