We all want to look more beautiful or handsome but what happens when we take steps to look more attractive and end up looking worse? Unfortunately sometimes Beauty has a high price. Though there is little risk with trying a new lipstick or nail color, surgery and many other beauty procedures should be carefully considered.

There is nothing wrong with trying to look younger and prettier. In the pursuit of youth and beauty, many people opt to undergo plastic surgery and other invasive procedures.
Lasers, injections, peels etc. are becoming common place. If you opt to try one of these methods be sure to do your homework.
Carefully check out the physician. Be aware of all the risks involved.

Dr. Daniel Serrano, an attractive, convincing doctor from Argentina gave cosmetic injections to a number of celebrities. It has been said that Shawn King (Larry King’s wife), Diane Richie (Lionel Richie’s ex-wife), Priscilla Presley and others were victims of Dr. Serrano. Serrano injected low grade silicone, a material used to lubricate vehicles into women’s faces. This was not a product approved by the FDA and Dr. Serrano was not licensed to practice medicine in the United States. Many of Serrano’s victims ended up with facial holes, lumps and paralysis.

FDA approved fillers such as Juvederm Botox, Restylane, Perlane, Collagen appears to have mixed results. Where some look natural others do not. Many reporters claim that Nicole Kidman’s taunt look is the result of years of Botox. Lisa Rinna shared in her book Rinnavation that her larger than life lips are the result of injectible silicone gone wrong. It hardened leaving scar tissue which has to either be left in and injected with an agent to soften it or cut out. Lisa opted to leave the silicone in her lips. Other celebrities who have been accused of going overboard on injections include Lindsay Lohan, Donatella Versace, Nikki Cox and Jessica Simpson. One tale tell sign of falsely inflated lips is the ratio of the Upper Lip to the lower lip. Most normal mouths sport a thinner upper lip. Injected lips tend to balloon at the top.

Kenny Rogers has been vocal about the eye lift he had. Kenny says the skin around his eyelids is so tight it drives him crazy. Others like Olympic gold medalist Bruce Jenner, and movie star Melanie Griffith appear to have face lifts that are to tight.

If you opt to try an invasive procedure be sure to check out the doctor thoroughly. Make sure he or she is board certified. Talk to other patients. Get a very good feel for the quality of work the doctor does. Be fully aware of all of the risks. Always consider trying non-invasive procedures first.
