Eliminating Anxiety with CBD Oil

Eliminating Anxiety with CBD Oil

The reputation of the recreational use of Cannabis is to cause drowsiness (due to the psychoactive effects of THC). Much research has been done on CBD and its effects on sleep. Thus, it has been shown that it depends hugely on the dose administered.

Cannabis can both cause and inhibit Anxiety, depending on the variety and the dose. CBD in particular has shown its action reducing anxiety and inhibiting fear of public expression.

The relationship of our societies with cannabis is undoubtedly rather complicated. Full of dramas, suspense, love and hate, enough to compete even the most popular television series. But if we disregard the usual government propaganda, propaganda of terror and disdain that causes cannabis, we still have a much easier problem to solve.

In recent years, many high-level studies have brought to light another aspect of cannabis, beyond a recreational hobby or a demoniac gateway drug that destroys lives (depending on the position of government of your country). There is ample evidence of the multitude of medicinal properties of cannabis. This is not surprising if the United States, for example, has partially legalized licensed medical cannabis and totally decriminalized the plant in the states of Colorado and Washington. But, let’s be clear, before you stock up on Sour Diesel or Haze (unless it’s really what you want to do), let’s take a look at the facts.

Studies that Reveal CBD Combat Anxiety

Studies have shown that anxiety disorders are by far the most common mental disorders worldwide and affect millions of people. Social anxiety disorder (ASD) is recognized as the most common form of anxiety. The CAS is characterized by intense fear of one or more social situations. This fear can cause such troubles that it can prevent normal daily functioning. The trigger for this disorder varies from person to person, but many attribute it to external judgment, whether real or imagined. It is this perceived pressure that manifests itself in the form of a social phobia.

As anxiety causes such disorders, if widespread, finding a way to manage (if not cure) the symptoms should be a priority. Well, cannabis could actually be the answer to the problem, specifically Cannabidiol. CBD is a non-psychoactive compound known to have a broad spectrum of therapeutic benefits. Cannabis users are unlikely to benefit the most from CBD because most plants are low in CBD. It is the THC that gives the “smashed” effect, and the higher the level of THC, the more “stoned” you are. THC and CBD coexist in the plant and act in synergy, CBD having mainly a regulating action on THC. Over the years, growers have carefully selected plants for their high THC content, while neglecting CBD levels. This is changing, however, as the benefits of CBD are becoming more evident.

As early as 2011, a group of Brazilian researchers published an article in the Journal of Psychopharmacology that analyzed the relationship between CBD and social anxiety disorder. Their findings suggested that the CBD could indeed offer real relief for those suffering from TAS.

However, some consumers experience anxiety as a result of cannabis use. The fact that cannabis causes or inhibits anxiety seems strongly related to the cannabinoid content of the variety in particular, and the dose. High doses of THC-rich varieties appear to initially cause anxiety, while CBD action is contrary. CBD decreases and reduces the effect of THC, which increases feelings of calm and relaxation. For many people, a low dose of the right cannabis strain seems to reduce anxiety, however, a slightly higher dose may well cause anxiety.

According to an article in the Daily Mail, which also highlights the anti-anxiety properties of cannabis, US scientists have found that cannabis regulates both anxiety and the fight or flight response of the body. Speaking of combat, this report is a powerful blow against the contradictory claims that cannabis is associated with anxiety, depression, schizophrenia and bipolar disorder.

Study by Dr Sachin Patel, also showed:

  • There are receptors through which cannabis can exert its effects on a key emotional node in the brain.
  • For the first time how nerve cells in this part of the brain produce and release their own natural endocannabinoids.

In another 2011 study, conducted by Mateus M. Bergamaschi, it was found that CBD “significantly decreased anxiety, cognitive impairment and discomfort” in people speaking in public. The team came to the conclusion that “a single dose of CBD can reduce the anxiety-increasing effects caused by the public speaking simulation test in patients with SAD, which indicates that this cannabinoid inhibits the fear of speaking in public, one of the main symptoms of this disorder.

These findings are counter to the positions of international governments around the world that prejudge the negative effects of cannabis. Although it is still too early to definitively state that CBD is a miracle drug (anti-anxiety), we can nevertheless inspire a good breath of relief.

How does the CBD work?

CBD works through the endocannabinoid system (ECS) present in our body that naturally produces cannabinoids. The ECS regulates various processes in our body, such as our mood or appetite or the perception of pain. CBD interacts with ECS and its receptors and the results of research suggest that cannabis oil can have a significant effect on the sleep cycle.

How does CBD affect sleep?

Sleep disorders can come from different sources such as anxiety, insomnia, chronic pain or stress. There are different factors and the dose of CBD also depends on the source of the sleep disorders.

In general, low doses of CBD can be energizing but can also reduce anxiety. If you think that your sleep problems can be caused by anxiety or stress, finding the right dose of CBD to eliminate feelings can be beneficial for your sleep.

Low dose CBD increases attention and reduces daydreams during the day, which is important for strengthening the sleep-wake cycle.

If you have trouble sleeping because of chronic pain, CBD can have a double effect: first, it can ease the pain, which can again improve sleep; it can then directly improve your sleep cycle

Studies have shown that high doses of CBD have sedative effects. High doses of CBD can also help reduce insomnia. Participants in these studies were able to see their sleep cycle improve and reported having much lighter sleep disorders. However, at high doses, participants also reported that they had fewer dreams.

The dosage of CBD for a better sleep

As you may already know, there is no “good” dosage – it differs between each person. The right dosage depends on how your body reacts to cannabinoids, your weight, and other factors like the disease. It also depends on the form in which you take CBD.

We recommend using CBD oil as it is easy to use. But how to use CBD oil? First of all, always consult your doctor or a doctor specialized in cannabinoid treatment. Then you have to choose your CBD oil and concentration. When you start using cannabis oil, you should start with a low dosage and be attentive to your reactions and your sleep cycle. You can then adjust the dosage until you achieve the desired effects.

The benefits of CBD and the possible side effects

CBD does not cause side effects in healthy adults. Known side effects are dry mouth, low blood pressure, slower movements, dizziness and sleepiness (which is good when you have trouble falling asleep).

It is also possible that CBD interacts with the medication taken, such as sedatives or drugs that faith treats or destroys. You must also pay attention during pregnancy and breastfeeding. Therefore it is recommended to always consult a doctor before using CBD.
