Daily Mindfulness

I have had a daily Mindfulness practice for the past 7 years and yet I still have issues and problems that I have to overcome. And that is the nature of Mindfulness meditation.

Every day you learn something new.

Having a daily practice is hard, especially in the beginning when you new to spending so much time in silence! Once you have overcome the initial challenge of Sitting, even for just 10 minutes, for a couple of weeks things start to get a little easier and the dread seems to lift a bit.

When you feel comfortable sitting every day you can start to experiment a bit with new things. If you have been sitting in a chair try using cushions on the floor or a meditation bench. Small changes like this will be reflected in your practice. This is also an opportunity to try longer meditations – slowly build them up day by day until you achieve 30 minutes. It is also a good time to try unguided meditations.

Remember there is no wrong or right way to practice Mindfulness.

There is no one judging you.

Not even yourself.

Be kind to yourself and congratulate yourself on your successes
