  1. Caramel Popcorn

Caramel corn is extremely sticky and will get wedged between your teeth, producing large amounts of bacteria. Popcorn can also be full of hulls and kernels that can damage your teeth, if not fully cooked.

  2. Sweet Foods (pies, cookies, etc.)

Your favorite dessert is great if eaten in moderation. It’s also important to rinse your mouth after eating sweet foods. This keeps the amount of sugar in the mouth to a minimum and reduces the risk of cavities and infection.

  3. Dried Fruit

Dried fruit is full of sugar that becomes more concentrated. This makes the fruit much more sticky, causing it to become attached to the teeth. It’s important to rinse or brush after eating dried fruits to make sure all of the small bits are removed.

  4. Sugary Drinks

Sugary beverages can also wreak havoc on your teeth. Keep sugary drinks and alcoholic beverages to a minimum to protect the delicate enamel that covers your teeth.

  5. Starchy Foods

Starchy foods like sweet potatoes, can accumulate in between teeth creating the perfect environment for tooth decay and cavities.

  6. Acidic Foods

Acidic foods can also damage the surface of your teeth. Acids can weaken your enamel and make your teeth more susceptible to cavities.

  7. Hard/Chewy Candy
