This is a great site on Finding a Cure for diabetes:
http://www.Insulin-free.org
They detail current information on pancreas Transplants, gene therapy, islet transplants etc. I love their statement on the home page
'This Disease Is Alive Because We Have Let It Live - And now we live with it - and tell ourselves it's Ok, even though, if we turn our backs for a moment, it could cripple us. Make us go blind. Put us in a coma. It is NOT OK...'
Really makes you think:
Did the discovery of insulin SLOW the actual finding of a cure for diabetes?
If we had never discovered insulin, (insulin is NOT a cure for diabetes) would we have found a cure for diabetes by now?
