Best Cafes to work from in Hyderabad

The first thing a startup Founder/Employee or a freelancer needs is a cheap or free working space where they can put their head down and get to work without worrying about being kicked out. Since when you’re working from home, it can sometimes feel like anything at all is a potential distraction.

When we started working on The Indian Wanderer Blog, we did rounds around Hyderabad to find the best space for us to work. We were a team of three so finding a desk/table was all the more a challenge. Luckily, when procrastination hits, Hyderabad has a wealth of top notch cafés up its sleeve that are just perfect for getting some work done in. there! So we have hunted out our top choices, combining excellent Wifi with a work-friendly atmosphere and a delicious menu. Just be sure to order enough drinks while you’re.

Here we have summarised our thoughts below and what we consider are the best cafes to work from in Hyderabad in no particular order:

1) White Board Cafe: A slice of Co-Working Space without the pricey membership, this fairly new addition to the Hyderabad scene is ideal for those in need of holing up with their laptop for a few hours. Their kitchen serves lots of delicious things on toast, and a particularly strong selection of healthy Food – millet, quinoa, Oats and multigrain Dosa along with a Protein Smoothie is a protein powerhouse of a breakfast. Need a break from the grindstone? Get a quick trim or manicure in the Saloon – Juice which is located in the ground floor of this building.

Pros: Conference Rooms, Super-Fast WiFi, Affordable Membership Plans for someone looking to reserve a table, Ambiance, Privacy, Mentorship Options, Healthy Food

Cons: Pure Veg, Costly in terms of Food, Packed during Peak Times.

2) Concu’s: Food: Its a Huge independent house located in the lanes of Road No:36, Jubilee Hills  which has been converted into a pretty looking Dessert Boutique (That is how I categorise this). Chic and minimalist decor (watch out for their teal and pink chalk-paint dipped chairs, florals, mason jars and cubist deconstructed filament lamps), combined with a bare/minimalist aesthetic in plating set the tone for the highlight of this bakery — their beautifully executed and generous dessert. Good Music, Friendly Staff and Good Wi-fi are the additional points apart from their Ambiance and Beverage options is why we chose this place as one of the best Cafes to work from. We never had issues with sitting for a long time at this place (P.S: We do order stuff at regular intervals).

Pros: Best Desserts in Town, Good Selection of Beverages especially Tea’s and Smoothies. Decent Music, Good Ambiance.

Cons: Crowded during Peak Times, but can’t complaint as this place was not created for this purpose.

3) The Innovator’s Cafe: If there is one place in Hyderabad right now to describe as Work Friendly Cafe then it is TIC – The Innovators Cafe. This is a place designed especially for Entrepreneur’s who don’t have a office Space and mentors yet, Free-lancers who are looking for a space to work along with some good Beverages and Food Options , Designers & Writers who are looking for inspiration around them to produce some amazing work.

An other point we put this in this list is because of the Pocket-Friendly Food and Beverages menu which they have curated especially for the kind of crowd who is reading this post. We have been here many times and we would suggest you to try their Kathi Rolls which are the best in town.

The major reason why we love this place is because of its ambiance. It has an outdoor and indoor seating which are curated for being a co-working space. The Indoor seating is mostly reserved for people who book a table on monthly basis as their office space based on the affordable membership plans which TIC to offer. Where as the outdoor seating is mostly used for Meetings, and a place to work for people just in case they want to consider this place as a temporary workplace for few hours. The interiors of the cafe are filled with posters of Quotes from major Entrepreneurs and Artwork showcasing the entrepreneurs who established themselves from the scratch which makes this a good place to work from.

Pros: Mentorship, Privacy, Pocket-Friendly menu, Affordable membership plans.

Cons: Hot during Summers as it is not air-conditioned.

4) Starbucks: Starbucks have mushroomed all over the city. The cafes are usually sprawling, air conditioned, cushy and have wi-fi so you’ll have all the comfort you need while working. And once you order in a cuppa or two and find your own little corner, the good folks at Starbucks will just let you be. Our favourite branch to work out of is the Film Nagar one where you can take your Coffee to the upstairs section and work in peace, especially during weekdays. I don’t think we need to mention about the kind of Ambiance and Food Options Starbucks provides people with as most of us have been to Starbucks at least once in our lifetime.

Pros: No Disturbance, Good Selection of Beverages.

Cons: Range of Products in regards to food.

5) Coffee Cup: This is the only Cafe in the Secunderabad town for people to work from. If you’d like an early start to your day, then Coffee Cup serves a killer breakfast. Tuck into plates of sausages, eggs sunny-side up, and baked beans while you gear up for work. The unique point of this cafe is that the outdoor seating is Smoke-Friendly and Pet-Friendly which makes it a plus point for all those who love their smokes and Pets.

Apart from the breakfast, they have a good range of food and beverages to choose from. We think almost all the items on the menu are up to the mark and value for money. Though sometimes they messed up with our dishes in regards to seasoning but the Staff at Coffee Cup were kind enough to rectify their mistake and present us with a better dish. The only problem with this place is that it is too crowded so you might have to plug in those earphones to tune out the chatter and head early to make sure you get a place to sit.

Pros: Good Wi-fi and Music, Decent Seating, Value for Money Products, Smoke-Friendly, Pet-Friendly, A Mini Library.

Cons: Location, Crowded and Noisy.

6) Gallery Cafe: A coffee shop with an attached art gallery (Kalakriti), this is a perfect hangout whether you’re looking for a creative outlet, coffee or yummy gourmet bites. This place welcomes you with art installations, modern paintings and video art. Each piece of furniture here carries art from famous city artists and is for sale.

The select vegetarian food menu is prepared by some well known chef’s and ranges from basic Sandwiches to Gorument Style Continental Food. The other star attraction is their Coffee & Tea menu, our favourite being the Turkish Coffee,Assam Upper Suchong Tea and a classy Fruit Iced Tea. If that’s not all then there is a Kashmiri Kahwa with Saffron blended and the Tibetan Butter Tea which are exclusively available only in this cafe.

Be ready with your Laptops and Note-Pads, because you never know when inspiration strikes especially in the company of fine art and fine food & drink.

Pros: Comfortable, Work-Friendly, Food and Beverages menu, Value for Money.
Cons: Wi-Fi (We always use our mobile internet as Wi-loop service is just in plans to ruin our wi-fi at all major cafe’s)

Few other places you can check out are:

7) Deli 9
8) Mocha
9) Beyond Coffee

So pack your items required to work and head to one of these Cafe’s today. Incase you all have something else in mind or need any other information about the places mentioned in this list feel free to leave us a comment so that we can make an addition to this post.

Happy Working everyone!
