Have a Uniquely Valentine’s Wedding!

In the spirit of Valentine’s Day, we thought we’d spread the love a little bit and have our friend Kayla from OurStart.com share some of her knowledge on the blog! Here’s what she has to say about having a Uniquely Valentine’s Wedding.

Despite what you may think, Valentine’s day may be the most perfect time to have a Wedding. There are all these extravagant notions that surround the day that having a Valentine’s wedding would be all the more romantic. But just because you have a Valentine’s wedding does not mean that you have to have everything centered around the day. So how can you have a Valentine’s Day wedding that will make your guests swoon?

The Non-Pink Color Scheme

When we think of Valentine’s Day, we think of the Color Pink. You know the pink anti-acid that we take when our tummy is upset? That color pink will cover you and everything and everyone in your wedding… FALSE. You don’t even have to have the color pink included in your special day if you do not want to! There are lots of different color palettes that can be classified as sweet or “Valentine-y” without being the traditional over the top, cheesy Valentine romantic.

Gold, Plum, and Navy

Burgundy and Blush

Marsala, Gold, and Dusty Rose

Plum, Lilac, and Blush

These color schemes may not have anything to do with Valentine’s Day, but they are still very sweet and romantic combos to have as your wedding colors. And surprisingly, not all of them have the color pink in them!

Cards Instead of Hearts

Although hearts are symbols of love, your venue doesn’t have to be lined with them. They are cute and sweet symbols to place sporadically around, but don’t think that you have to have them just because it is Valentine’s Day. Instead, you can show off your style with these sweet ideas to display your cards!

Think outside the box with this one. Use an old hat box or an old wooden toolbox! These can really show off your personalities and exemplify the Valentine theme!

Tablescapes

Lush and Green

Pretty in Pink

Fancy or casual, no matter which you choose, show it off with cute little details like heart shaped napkins or breathtaking leafy greens lining your tables!

See, a Valentine’s Day wedding doesn’t have to cheesy or predictable. There don’t have to be hearts and cupid’s everywhere. The color pink does not have to be painted on all the walls. You can have a Valentine’s Day wedding with class and a bit of sass and still be the sweetheart that everyone knows you as! With these tips you can have the most awesome uniquely Valentine’s wedding! Happy planning!
