Cappucino That Won't Break Your Budget...or Your Waistband

I love Coffee.  I wish I didn't, because I feel like it may have bad effects on my body, but the good effects it has on my motivation greatly outweigh the bad.  Plus, I figure if coffee is my only vice, I'm not in that bad of shape, right?

I don't drink coffee like a real woman.  I like my coffee to taste like a dessert, which is the reason I worry about the health consequences.  I finally switched to artificial sweetener a few months ago when I realized that I'm in my upper 20s and no longer have the metabolism I once did.  I add flavored coffee creamer to the extent that I should probably be ordering "French vanilla creamer with a splash of coffee."  What is the point of this rambling, you ask?  The point is, I'm working on finding healthy alternatives, and I think I have.  Or at least, I feel like it's healthier.

For my birthday, my grandma bought me "The Magic Bullet."  Apparently, there is a different device on the market with a similar name...don't get the wrong idea.  This Magic Bullet is a food processing/coffee grinding/chopping wonder, and it also makes....wait for it....cappuccino.

Simply add skim milk to the Magic Bullet, give it a whirl for a few seconds, then remove the container and put it in the microwave for a minute and a half, maybe two minutes.  Allow the milk to sit for a few seconds after it is finished heating so that the foam will rise to the top.  Brew a cup of coffee, strain in the heated milk, then spoon some of the foam into the top of the cup.  Sprinkle some nutmeg, cinnamon, or cocoa powder on top.

Drum roll please...

Ta-da!!!!

Move over, Starbucks!  Isn't it pretty?  It takes 3 minutes to make, it gives me the fluff I need to feel like I'm not drinking real coffee, and with skim milk and a little Splenda, it's much healthier than the flavored coffee creamer I insist on drinking.

I hope this helps to make your mornings a little lovelier.  :)

P.S.  Here are some more yummy drink recipes you can make with the Magic Bullet.
