Epic Conquest Guide: Tips & Tricks for Dummies

Welcome to the dummies guide on how to get stronger in Epic Conquest. Here are some tips and tricks on how to progress further into the game, increasing your Character stats and leveling your characters fast in the game.

Which character should I choose first?

You will be given 2 characters to choose from at the beginning of the game: Alaster or Edna. If you want a melee tanky hero but also deals damage at the same time, go for Alaster (I recommend this hero for beginners). Otherwise, you can pick Edna instead where she can deal huge AOE damage and burn damage over time to enemies. The downside for Edna, however, is that she is very squishy in the early stages of the game.

If you want to switch between heroes, you can tap the ‘Heroes’ from the main menu and select your character. 2 things to take note, your character’s level, masteries, and skills will not be carried forward so you will have to level up your new character from scratch. Your inventory items, however, will be carried forward among all characters.

How do I unlock the other 2 characters?

To unlock the other 2 characters, you will have complete a certain stage from the World Map to unlock either one of the characters. Louisa (Archer) will be unlocked once you complete stage 2-4 (Normal). Zerav (Soul Collector) will be unlocked once you complete stage 3-10 (Normal). You can use real money to unlock both of them instantly but I would not recommend it since you can obtain them pretty quickly depending on how fast you progress.

Character stats + Stat builds

Every time your character levels up, he/she will gain 3 SP. You can use SP to Upgrade your character stats (Main Menu->Status). There are 4 different stats for you to upgrade:

  • STR +1 -> +1.5 physical damage (For Alaster, Louisa and Zerav), +10 Defense, +0.12% Stun Resist
  • AGI +1 -> +0.125% attack speed, +0.09% Critical, 0.08% CD reduction
  • INT +1 -> +1.5 magical damage (For Edna), +10 Max MP, +0.06 MP Regen
  • VIT +1 -> +20 Max HP, +0.07 HP Regen, +0.11% Fire/Ice/Poison Resist

So which stats should you be focusing on for each character? I would say it is based on your preference. But I will show you some of the stat builds for each character if you are unsure.

For Alaster:

  • Tank DPS Build – Use all your SP to upgrade STR stat only.
  • Pure Tank Build – Use all your SP to upgrade VIT stat only. You can use some SP to upgrade STR stat if you need a bit more physical damage.

For Edna:

  • Pure Magic Build – Use all your SP to upgrade INT stat only. Since Edna is very squishy, I feel that it is best to upgrade all to INT to kill enemies quickly.
  • Magic + Attack Speed Build – Use 2 SP to upgrade INT stat and 1 SP to upgrade AGI stat for every level.

For Louisa:

  • Pure Attack Build – Use all your SP to upgrade STR stat only.
  • Attack Speed + Crit Build – Use all your SP to upgrade AGI stat only.

For Zerav:

  • Burst Damage Build – Use all your SP to upgrade STR stat only.
  • Sustain DPS Build – Use all your SP to upgrade AGI stat only.

If you mess up upgrading your stats, however, you can choose to reset all your SP for 10 Rubies.

Character Skills and Masteries

Each character has 4 different skills and 4 different masteries (Main Menu->Skill). All skills will be unlocked upon reaching level 20 while all the masteries are unlocked at level 15. Skill levels will automatically upgrade for each level and you can select any masteries to upgrade. 3 mastery points will be given for every level.

So which masteries should you prioritize first? For all characters, prioritize on maxing out the first one (Sword and Shield Mastery, Pyromastery, Bow Mastery, and Scythe Mastery). The reason is that your character’s weapon damage will permanently increase by a certain percentage (25% at Max level). After that which mastery to max is completely up to you. You can tap on any of the skill/mastery icons to see the full details of that skill/mastery. If you mess up upgrading your masteries, however, you can choose to reset all your mastery points for 20 Rubies.

One cool tip is that during battles, some of your character skills have invincibility frames which help to avoid enemy attacks instead of dodging. For example, you can tap a skill just as the enemy projectile is about to hit your character to avoid the attack.

Character Perks

Each character will also have its own perks (There are 2 for each character).

Alaster perks:

  • Guard – Alaster has 10% chance to block an attack. Completely nullifying any damage from any source.
  • Revenge – Grants a buff that boosts both attack damage and critical rate by 25% for 3 seconds after a successful guard.

Edna perks:

  • Spell Overcharge – When her spell is ready, Edna can charge it into a higher tier spell (up to stage 3), massively increasing spell effective range and damage output.
  • Flame Protection – Halves damage taken from Burn debuff.

Louisa perks:

  • Binding Trap – Quickly plants a trap when dodging. Enemies touching it will be ensnared for 5 seconds, reducing their speed to 0. Doesn’t work on certain enemies.
  • Sprint – After a dodge, Louisa gains a sprint buff that increases her movement speed by 30% for 2 seconds.

Zerav perks:

  • Soul Manipulation – Allows Zerav to collect souls using certain attacks, and use the soul gauge to enhance certain attacks.
  • Life Leech – Grants 2% chance to life steal for every soul stored in the soul gauge.

Use the Blacksmith

You can use the Blacksmith (Main Menu->Blacksmith) to do one of the following:

  • Dismantle – This is where you can dismantle your unwanted equipment for materials.
  • Craft – You can create new equipment like weapons and armor. Items such as jewels and sapphires can be crafted here. Each item/equipment will require different materials in order to craft. Most of the materials are dropped from killing enemies. The soul materials can be dropped only from killing bosses.
  • Upgrade – This is where you can upgrade a equipment to boost its stats further. Each upgrade requires Gold and each subsequent upgrade level increases the number of Gold required. The higher the upgrade level, the lower the success chance. The max upgrade level for an equipment is level 10. I highly recommend using sapphires (Increases success rate) when upgrading your equipment from +6 and above.
  • Appraise – You can appraise your equipment to change the bonus stats for that equipment (Green colored stats). I recommend appraising your equipment once your equipment reaches max upgrade level.
  • Socket – You can equip jewels to your equipment for special effects. Each equipment will have 2 jewel slots. There are 3 types of jewels (Red, Orange, and Purple) and 3 different rarities (Common, Rare, Epic).

To equip an equipment for your character, go to your inventory from the main menu, select an equipment then tap ‘Equip’. You can also sell your unwanted equipment if you want but I would rather dismantle them instead for materials.

Item Slots

If you want, you can actually use consumables during battles which can be a lifesaver. You will have 2 item slots that you can place your consumables. To do so, go to your inventory, tap the ‘Consume’ tab, tap any of the consumable items and then tap on any of the empty item slots.

Where can I farm soul materials faster?

You can farm soul materials fast from Boss Rush stages (1-X,2-X,3-X, etc) from the World Map. To unlock a Boss Rush stage, you will have to complete the end of stage 1,2,3, etc (1-11,2-10,3-10, etc). You will get to fight against each boss for each wave which will always drop a soul material. You will get about 6 souls per Boss Rush instead of 1 which is a lot.

Check out the Merchant

I recommend checking out the Merchant where you can spend Gold or Rubies for various items.

  • Consume – You can purchase different consumables using Gold
  • Special – You can purchase Gold and Sapphire stones using Rubies
  • Ruby – You can purchase Rubies using real money
  • Package – Purchase different packages using real money

If you going to spend lots of time in this game and wants to spend real money on it, I highly suggest purchasing the premium service. Here are the benefits if you purchase it:

  • 50% more EXP from enemies
  • 30% more Gold from pouches
  • Better chance for Ruby drop
  • Reduce prize box time by 2 hours
