King of Pirates Guide: Tips & Tricks for Dummies

Welcome to the dummies guide on how to get stronger in King of Pirates. Here are some tips and tricks on how to progress further into the game, increasing your team’s overall power and leveling your partners fast in the game.

Do the Dungeon/Adventure stages first

If you just finished the tutorial, do the Dungeon/Adventure story stages as far as you can (Main Menu->Dungeon). You will obtain character (Your main character) EXP from completing Dungeon/Adventure stages. All of the features will be unlocked once you have reached level 47 which will take more than 2 weeks. Also, try to complete each stage with 3 stars. You will be able to collect the max star rewards (Tap the treasure chest) from each chapter. Not only that but you will unlock the sweep feature for that stage where you can tap on the sweep button to instantly complete the stage.

I also recommend to speed up the battle to x3 since this is an idle RPG to save time. At level 45, you can tap the skip button to instantly finish the stage instead of waiting for the stage to end. You can tap on any of the enemy/ally partners to see their skill set if you want. If you ran out of SP, you can use your Gold (Premium currency) to purchase Ribs which can be used to restore SP. Take note you can purchase up to 5 Ribs per day.

Obtaining more partners

I suggest saving your Gold as many as you can. The reason is that you can use the 10x advanced summon (Main Menu->Store->Super Summon) for 2800 Gold instead of 3000. You will also obtain an orange partner which is the highest rarity partner in the game currently. If you want to obtain a high rarity partner much earlier into the game, you can try rerolling by uninstalling the app and reinstalling the game. I suggest not linking (binding) your account if you are doing this as rerolling will not work if you have already linked an account to your facebook.

Each partner will have either of the 3 classes:

  • DEF – Tanks damage from enemies. Recommended position – Frontline
  • P.ATK – DPS for physical. Recommended position – Anywhere is fine
  • M.ATK – DPS for magical. Recommended position – Backline

Adding/Changing partners to your team + team formation

To check out your team, tap on your character or any of the partners from the main menu and it will bring you to the team section. To add/change a partner, tap on any of the partner square icons at the top left side of the screen and tap ‘Change’. You can also change your team’s formation by tapping ‘Formation’. Here are some of the formations that you can choose:

  • Explosive – Increases ATK by 500 points (Applies to all frontline units)
  • Earth – Increases P.DEF and M.DEF by 500 points and reduce the received physical damage by 12% (Applies to all frontline units)
  • Fire – Directly change the original Fury to 4 points for that unit
  • Light – Increases P.DEF and M.DEF by 600 points and reduce the received magic damage by 10% (Applies to 2 frontline and 1 backline)
  • Flint – Increases the Hit Rate of physical attack by 5% and add the physical damage by 10% (Applies to 2 frontline and 1 backline)
  • Water – Recover HP by 1500 points each round, and additionally recover lost HP by 3% (Applies to 2 frontline and 1 backline)

To unlock a formation, you will have to complete the character stages from the Strong World (Main Menu->Sailing->Strong World). If you want to change the position of your character or partner, just tap and drag the character/partner icon to the position that you want to place.

Strengthing your heroes – Upgrading partners and promote

To upgrade a partner, tap on any of the partner square icon and tap on the partner again then tap ‘Upgrade’. You can use your unwanted partners as upgrade materials to increase the level of that partner. I highly recommend using the EXP monsters since they give more EXP for your character/partner. EXP monsters can mainly be obtained from the Enemy Attack stages (Main Menu->Sailing->Enemy Attack->Navy Chasing).

When your character/partner reaches level 5, you can promote your character/partner to boost its stats greatly. You will require promote stones and Marks (For high levels) in order to promote. Promote stones can mainly be obtained from doing any of the dungeon/adventure stages. The next promotion level will be every 5 levels (10,15,20, etc).

Strengthing your heroes – Equipping gear

You can equip/change different types of Gear for your character/partner by tapping on any of the gear slots and tap ‘Equip’/’Change’. One thing to take note is that each gear has its own type of set so if you equip different gear of the same set, it will activate its stat bonus. You can also enhance and refine your gear to increase its stats even further. Enhancing a gear only requires Belly while redefining a gear require refine stones which can be purchased from the Item shop (Main Menu->Store->Item). You can obtain high rarity gear from the Item store or doing the Sea Monster Hunt (Unlocks at level 45).

Strengthing your heroes – Shadow feature

The Shadow feature from the main menu is where you can roll random kinds of shadow data for your character/partners to equip for a huge boost in overall power. Tap the ‘Sprinkle Salt’ button to roll a random kind of shadow data or a shadow fragment (Up to 15 times for free daily). You can also tap the ‘Quick Fuse’ button to level up a shadow data (Requires multiple shadow data). Shadow fragments can be exchanged for high rarity shadow data from the Fragment Exchange.

Do all the Sailing stages daily

Once you have run out of SP, I highly recommend doing all the Sailing stages every day. Here are some of the Sailing stages that you can do daily:

  • Strong World – Each episode includes a character from One Piece. You can complete each episode to unlock formations and obtain beer which can be used to upgrade them at the Meeting Room.
  • Arena – This is where you can battle against other players to climb up in the rankings (Requires 5 stamina). The higher your rank, the better the rewards you will receive when the countdown ends.
  • Impel Down – This is where you can battle against enemies for crystals which can be exchanged for various items at the Gear store.
  • Oversea Trade – You can send your partners for expedition quests.
  • Enemy Attack – This is where you can farm EXP monsters, training dummies (For Taijutsu) and gear boxes.
  • Pirate Ally – You can battle enemies with other players for special rewards.

Joining/Creating a Guild

I suggest joining/creating a Guild as soon as possible if you have not done so. You will gain access to different types of Guild features such as:

  • Bar Owner – This is where you can obtain Guild EXP and Guild contribution in exchange for Belly (Once per day).
  • Guild Dungeon  – You can battle against raid enemies for various rewards.
  • Guild Businessman – You can exchange your Guild contribution for different items and Belly.

Daily Login Rewards + Events + Tasks

Even if you do not play this game often, I would suggest to at least log in to collect the ‘Sign In’ rewards. Check out Events where you can claim some free rewards from the ‘Banquet Time’ (Free SP), ‘Growth Fund’, ‘Lv Gift’ and the ‘Lucky Draw’. I recommend completing the daily tasks as they reset daily for various items like Belly, Ribs, and Gold. You can also obtain free Belly daily by liking top players from the ‘Big News’. Make sure to also accept friend requests from other players so that you can send/receive stamina.

If you are new to this game, you can download this game on either IOS or Android.
