Millionaire Mindset: 33 Habits of Every Millionaire

What drives some people to be Successful, and others to not be?  How is it that 2 people from the same background can end up in totally different financial states?

What makes the difference between a millionaire and your average person?  How is it that someone who came from nothing could become so wealthy, while someone who has everything going for them ends up poor?

When it comes down to it, it’s one thing really – Your MINDSET.

I see so many guides online, “How to Become a Millionaire Overnight” or “How to Be a Millionaire in x Amount of Years” so on and so forth, and yes there is some useful information out there, but they’re missing the whole point!

If you want to become a successful, wealthy person, there are certain skills and habits you must learn, and in this article I’ll be taking you through 33 of them.

This will be part of a series on building wealth and financial independence, so be sure to subscribe to keep updated on when new articles come out.  Also, I will be releasing an E-book in the near future, and subscribers will get a hefty discount.

Grab some coffee, sit back, and lets get started!

  1.  Create a Plan Of Action

Every successful person makes a plan for how they want to accomplish something.  Without a plan, staying organized and on-task is impossible.

Make a plan for what you want to get done every single day and stick to it.

  1. Wake up Early

The people who win at life are the ones who get up early and kick ass while everyone else is asleep.  Get used to waking up before 6:00 every day and get a head start on all of the competition.

  1. Get In Shape

Getting into shape and building your body has countless benefits, including increased focus, energy, and stamina.  Also, people naturally respect someone who takes good care of themselves, Your body is your first impression, make it a priority.

A quick and effective way to build an incredible body is by following the famous Body Of A Spartan by Victor Pride.  His routines are tried and true, take very little time investment, and are guaranteed to get you looking and feeling like you can take on anything.

  1. Write Everything Down

Successful people understand that inspiration could strike at any time.  Carry a notepad with you, or even get an app on your phone for taking notes, and use it whenever you come up with an idea.

Look back at your notes whenever you’re searching for inspiration, you’d be surprised how quickly they rack up.

  1. Spend as Little as Possible for as Much as Possible

Get into the habit of looking for the best deal on anything you buy, no matter what.  The Money you save piles up incredibly fast, and you can save thousands of dollars every year by doing this.

A little trick for this:  Search up what you want to purchase on AliBaba.com or AliExpress.com, that’s where most retailers obtain their products, and you can buy for much cheaper directly from the manufacturer.

  1. Cut out Distractions

Social Media is the big one here, kill off your distractions and your productivity will skyrocket.  Distractions take you away from your goal, and can turn a task that would only take an hour into a day-long event.

I wrote a whole article on increasing you focus and cutting out distractions that you can find here.

  1. Work Every Day

Every day you take off from working is a day you could’ve spent building your Business, earning money, and getting closer to your goals.  Especially when you’re just starting out, only take time off when you need to.

The more time you devote to building up, the faster you’ll grow, and the closer you’ll get to…

  1. …Making Your Money Work For You.

This should be the goal of every business.  Build your business up, and automate it as much as possible so you don’t have to be putting in the hours every day to make money.

This point is the key to living on your own terms.  When your money works for you, you’re not chained down to an office, and you can freely pursue your interests.

When it comes to automation and time-management, there is no better guide than Tim Ferriss’s book, The 4 Hour Work Week.  Tim will teach you everything there is to know about automating your business, and his principles are followed by virtually every successful entrepreneur.  An absolute must-read.

  1. Create a Productive Routine

Get up, make coffee, eat breakfast, get to work.  It doesn’t have to be more complicated than that.  Do what helps you be productive, and get used to doing it every day at the same time.

Make productivity a habit.

There is NO better guide to taking control of your time and learning discipline than 30 Days Of Discipline, by my man Victor Pride.  Victor’s method for instilling confidence and discipline into your life is simply unparalleled.  I have used it myself, as have millions of like-minded people.  Get a copy for yourself using the link above, or through the “Books” Page of the site.

  1. Surround Yourself With Like-Minded People

Surrounding yourself with business-oriented, successful and aspiring people will help motivate you to become like them.  You’ll learn how successful people became the way they are, and make some great connections too.

This leads on to my next point, which is:

  1. Burn No Bridges.

All of your connections should be valued and treated with respect.  Keep in touch with everyone you meet, be cordial and respectful, and become someone people can rely on.

Having close connections and strong networking skills gives you many more resources to work with, and allows you to access a much wider audience with your product.

  1. Love What You Do, Passion Breeds Success

There is no greater motivation than loving what you do.

Fall in love with the idea of success, and instantly your whole life will change.

Loving what you do lets you use your passion to create a product of much higher quality and value than the competition.

  1. Learn From Every Mistake

Mistakes are unavoidable for everyone.  What makes successful people different from everyone else, is that they learn from their mistakes, fix them, and move forward, while most people would just give up.

Mistakes are the best opportunity to learn.  Use your past mistakes as tools to prevent yourself from making the same ones in the future.

  1. Be in the Business of Solving Problems

Solving problems is the key to creating a successful business.  Look at every little thing around you and think how you could improve it.  This is how most super-successful companies came about, the creator saw a common problem, fixed it with their product/service, and turned it into a business.

  1. Build Yourself as a Brand

Your biggest asset is yourself.  Build and market yourself into someone people can trust.  Expand your presence by getting involved in organizations, meeting new people, and creating content with real value.

  1. Become a Perfectionist

Never accept anything less than the best.  Always strive to be the best, and focus on every little detail perfect.  Your work will look professional, and your image will be immaculate.

  1. Dress The Part

I wrote a whole article on this that you can find here.

How you look is your first impression, and dressing sharp gives you an instant edge over anyone, commands respect, and makes people trust you.

Check out the linked article and learn how to look like a million bucks.

  1. Ignore The Negativity

People will try their best to bring you down, to discourage you, and to stop you from achieving greater success than them.  To be successful, you have to ignore everyone who doesn’t understand your vision.

Keep a clear mind and cut out negativity from your life.  Stick to your dreams.

  1. Don’t Let Yourself Make Excuses

A big part of being successful is being able to hold yourself accountable.  It’s one thing to make a schedule, but you have to develop the discipline to stick with it, especially when you’re doing something you don’t really enjoy at the time.

  1. Keep Track Of Every Penny You Spend

Record every single transaction, and look over your notes at the end of the week to see where you can make improvements.  You’d be surprised how even small, minute purchases can pile up into major expenses.

Take the money you save and put it into a savings account, or better yet, invest it with Betterment.  Betterment is an incredible tool that auto-invests your money into stocks that the algorithm picks for you, and it usually generates very nice returns.  Check it out!

  1. Hold True To Your Word

Nobody likes someone who lies.  You want to build up your image, and in order to do that, people have to be able to trust you!  Be fair and respectful, help people who need it, and don’t skip out on plans you commit to.

  1. Take Cold Showers

Cold showers are like 5 shots of coffee at once.  They pump you up, get rid of any tiredness you may feel, and have a couple health benefits too!  Cold showers have been known to boost your immune system and circulation, stimulate weight loss, ease stress, and much more.

They’re not the most comfortable thing in the world, but you get used to them relatively quickly, and the benefits far outweigh the cons.  Give it a try!

  1. Never Be Afraid To Take (Calculated) Risks

In business, everything profitable is a risk.  You have to put down money in order to make money, and sometimes it can be pretty nerve-wracking to go through with a deal.

Now I’m not saying just jump into things head on, you must calculate every risk you take, and make sure that the risk is worth the reward.

  1. Always Follow Up

When you see opportunity, you have to chase it like a rabid dog.  Follow up on appointments and meetings, if someone gives you their card, give them a call.  You want to have an impact on people and have them remember you.  Never let any opportunity go to waste, because you will never get the same one again!

  1. Always Strive For GREATER

If you look at any successful person, you’ll notice that for them, there’s never a time when they’ve “had enough.”  They’ll always be searching for new ventures, greater opportunities, and a greater purpose.

This is what I call the “Millionaire Mindset.”

The constant strive for something greater is what allows these exceptional people to rise up past the norm and dominate the competition.  You have to never stop striving for the best, don’t settle for any less.

  1. Put Your Business First

This is actually pretty difficult for most people.  Your business has to take priority over most other things in your life, at least while you’re first starting out.  You can’t skip working on your business for personal reasons, because the only one who will suffer is yourself.  Like I stated before, there can be no days off when you’re growing your business.

Now obviously there are a few exceptions to this, such as health related reasons, but remember, the more time you spend on your business, the faster you’ll grow.

  1. Have a Purpose

What motivates you to get up and get to work in the morning?  Or to earn money in general?

The answer is your PURPOSE.

There has to be a reason you’re going through all the trouble to make money, it could be providing for your family, buying a new home, or just having a better quality of life.  Whatever it is, envision it and keep it in your mind at all times.  It’s what will get you through the hard times.

  1. Only Take Out What You Need

The best thing you can do with profits from your business is to re-invest it into the business.  That way your money can earn you even more for you to take out later (Or when you sell the business!)  Take out only as much as you need to live happily and you’ll be rewarded later on.

  1. Use Every Resource and Connection available to you

Think friends, neighbors, family.  Everyone lives their own life and develops their own skillset, use your connections with these people to help grow your business.  Don’t know how to do SEO?  Maybe you have a friend whose an expert.

This is one of many benefits to keeping all of your connections open, you have a never-ending amount of trusted resources and skills that you can use to prosper.

  1. Always Finish What You Started

Never just leave something to rot half-completed, it makes you look like a quitter, like someone who doesn’t take pride in their work.  Either don’t start something, or resolve to see it through to the end.  Sometimes that means ending something that isn’t going the way you want early, and that’s perfectly okay, so long as it’s clearly intentional and is being replaced with something better.

  1. Have Patience

Making money and building your empire takes time!  If you expect to start a business and immediately wake up with a million bucks in your PayPal account, you’re on track to be discouraged and quit early.

Be patient and diligent and your business will grow larger and more profitable over time.

  1. Think Big, Start Small

Whether your goal is to become a millionaire, a billionaire, or just wealthy enough to live comfortably, you always have to start from the bottom.  It seems like a daunting task to get started, and trust me – it can be tough to stay on track in the beginning!  Just envision your dreams, develop a plan, stick to it, have patience, and make it happen.

  1. Be Intentional With Everything You Do, and Live Without Regrets

I wrote a piece a little while ago about being intentional with your actions.  Briefly, everything you do, every decision, every word that comes out of your mouth has to have a purpose.  When you do this, you can be regret-free, because you’re making a conscious decision in every situation.
