How to Scan and Fix Hard Disk Issues Using chkdsk

Here is an other way to fix Hard Disk errors, and that is chkdsk. We use it with Command Prompt. We use chkdsk to check the Integrity of Disks. chkdsk test the Disk and tries to solve many Errors on different type of formatted drives like FAT32, NTFS and FAT16.
  • First of all open Command Prompt as Administrator.
Click start menu type cmd, you will see Command Prompt. Right click on it and open as Administrator.
  • Type chkdsk C: then it will executed and may take some time. (C is the partition Letter)
  • Then type chkdsk /f C: (it will take some time)
  • Done
When you use this command, Check Disk performs an analysis of the disk and then repairs any errors it finds, provided that the disk isn’t in use. If the disk is in use, Check Disk displays a prompt that asks whether you want to schedule the disk to be checked the next time you restart the system. Click Yes to schedule this check.
