Here’s the story of Vrinda, a young girl who’s just given her board exams and like any other young woman her age, desires to not just stand on her own feet, defy the rules that define out male-dominated society but also support her parents.

Vrinda was confused when she received her board results and found she had not made it into any of the universities she had applied to. But her perceived failure turned out to be a blessing in disguise. As she happens to share her story to motivate others going through a similar experience not to give up:

“On the day I received my board results my Family was beside. They hugged me and celebrated me and all I could do was cry my eyes out because I knew that even though I had done well. I wasn’t going to get into any of the universities I had applied to.

My family and I had stayed up the whole night and, to be honest, the thing that was making me the most nervous was the possibility of letting my family down.

My family always believed in further studies, while I believed in self-study. It was difficult for me to make a choice.

The three month break right after the exams really helped. And that was the time, I came across Digital Leadership Institute. Dr Som, founder of DLI, introduced me to this course when she had come as a guest lecturer to our college. Speaking to her one on one was of great help, as she addressed the common confusion, when it comes to selecting university. Also, she mentioned how DLI could provide a head start in the field of marketing, which was my field of interest.

It didn’t take me long to enrol myself in the following course. I took the course seriously, also the exam. Since the courses are online, I could access them any time. I employed the learning from the course in the start-up run by my dad. He was happy to see me make a difference. The techniques offered by DLI to gain more consumers was working wonders. We could see the power of digital, in the first month of using AdWords and SEO.

Presently, I work in the family start up, gaining the marketing insight. Also, I am part of the training team at DLI. Taking regular sessions for the people who are confused and helping them with their career choices.

This was a roller coaster ride for me, I never knew this was also an option, until I was part of it. To all people, who didn’t get into the courses they applied for and who are feeling hopeless right now.”
