According to the latest New World Wealth report, Pune features in the list of the richest cities in India with a total wealth of $180 billion. With an astounding number of 4,500 millionaires and 5 billionaires, Pune features in a list which is topped by Mumbai in 1^st place, followed by News Delhi, Bengaluru coming up 3^rd, followed by Hyderabad and then Pune. Chennai and Gurgaon add to the list after Pune with a total wealth of $150 billion and $110 billion respectively, followed by other Tier II cities in India such as Surat, Ahmedabad, Visakhapatnam, Chandigarh, Jaipur and Vadodara.

The above figures are increasingly relevant in the context of growth across sectors such as financial services, IT, real estate, healthcare and media and it is believed that this growth will be initiated across the cities of Hyderabad, Pune and Bengaluru. Particularly so for the real estate sector in India, the report predicts that approximately 40% of wealthy Indians are likely to demonstrate an appetite for up-market residential properties in India in the next two years.
