Jeep Compass has been the latest addition to the market from Fiat Chrysler Automobiles. It is aimed to grab a global market share for the SUVs. The new design comes with a 2.4-liter i4 engine which is likely to enhance performance manifold. It is already seen as a competition to Nissan Qashqai.

A unique factor about this jeep is it’s off the road ability. An additional 66 millimetres have also been added to the wheelbase. This allows more space around the rear seat and much more spacious cabin as well. The vehicle offers a choice of two driving systems namely the Active Drive and Active Drive Low. Both systems further have five modes which are Auto, Sand, Snow, Mud and Rock. Apart from these, when you are driving in the normal mode, the power is sent to the front axle to optimise fuel efficiency.

In the European range of the jeep, 1.4-litre multi-air turbo petrol engine is used with a choice of 140hp and 170hp variations. The 140hp variation comes with 2WD six-speed manual while the 4WD automatic gearbox is used for 170hp. There is also a diesel range in which Jeep Compass offers a 120hp 1.6-litre Multi jet, 140hp 2.0 liter Multi jet as well as 170hp 2.0 litre Multijet. In other parts of the world like Russia and Africa, the 2.4-litre engine is used.

As for the infotainment systems, there is a variety of three different sizes of touch screens with the bigger ones being in high definition. The displays are compatible with Apple Carp Play as well as Android Auto. Moreover, the safety features have been improved by including a wider range of systems. These include the collision warning systems, path detection, cruise control, etc. This not only makes Jeep Compass a safer ride but also facilitates smart driving significantly.
