20 year old guide to 30!

"Your 20's are to enjoy yourself. Your 30's are to learn the lessons. Your 40's are to buy the drinks." A quote from one of my favorite movies "Sex and the City."
I avoid rejecting plans because two years ago I spent majority of my time in the house. It's apart of life to have a night on the town with friends! You meet new people and forget your troubles for the night. What's wrong with that? I'm sure you've heard "I'd do anything to be in my Twenties again." The moment in our lives when there isn't much on our plate. Take advantage of the best time of your life!
For example giving your parents Money may seem like your throwing money out the window. In reality they're trying to prep us for real world scenarios. The earlier you learn how to manage your money the more mindful you'll be in the future. Once your paying rent, credit cards or a car payment you'll wish it was the same amount your parents expected. (I know I do!) You can't avoid taking on responsibilities forever.
I don't have much dating experience. Tinder turned into a bust for me considering the only girls that liked me were old enough to be my mother. I tried an app called HER and I deleted it because I got tired of reading "I want a girlfriend" every time I logged in. My thumb got tired of swiping left and I realized it was only for entertainment. I admit it was weird to see people posting their number begging a stranger to facetime or call them. Maybe I will meet someone in the cereal section at Walmart one day. Curious about other personal experiences dating in their 20's I asked around. The first response was cliché along the lines of "I turned cold after my heartbreak." "An ongoing carefree experiment" is the second response I received. Experimenting in college but keeping in mind STD's exist." "It's like going out on a Friday night without knowing the outcome. If it's dead I can't leave I paid for parking already!" I asked one of my aunts completely forgetting she got married when she was 17. "Dating in your 20's is like asking for testers at jeremiahs." My favorite comparison was "Poker. You hold your hand close and bluff your way through."
Turning 22 in 16 days it's safe to say I'm just getting started. I do believe it's important to have the mindset of a hustler. It's okay to not have everything figured out but if you have a goal work towards it every day! Now is the time to dedicate your time and energy into what you want out of life. To prevent the feeling of wasted opportunities later! Assuming your dream will fall into your lap is a fugazi. What I want in my twenties is to figure out who I am, what I believe in and what legacy I want to leave in this world. In the blink of an eye we'll be 30!
