History is replete with the fall out of leaders/people appeasing/ignoring evil. I have to wonder when will we learn that evil in any form cannot be appeased nor can it be ignored. Either of these options allows it to grow unabated and when it is finally stopped the carnage is much greater than if it had been quashed in the beginning. Yet world "leaders" and governments never seem to learn from History.
Today we are at point in this world where evil is front and center and where the appeasement of past leaders including a few US Presidents have created a mess. There is an evil monster in charge in North Korea who has finally achieved the goal of Nuclear Weapons and a delivery system for those weapons. Kim Jong - Un is a completely unhinged monster who revels in brutality against his own people. Yet he did not just appear on the world stage, North Korea has long been run by evil, yet for decades super powers have believed it was best to try an appease the evil and crazy. There was ZERO will to stand against blatant evil despite the fact that this evil could have been taken out before nuclear capabilities were achieved.
Now the world is faced with unhinged evil hell bent on achieving domination. The carnage of taking out the North Korean nuclear threat will now be much worse because the US and the world did not act when they should have. The world has watched the threat grow and has done NOTHING. Toothless UN Sanctions are a joke and have only harmed the citizens that Kim Jong - Un has taken great pleasure in torturing and starving in the first place, just as his father before him did. Those who had the power to stop the evil chose to allow it to flourish. Many of those same people who allowed evil to run wild are aghast that President Trump is verbalizing that evil will not prevail on his watch. Not one of them has the right to say a word, because all of them allowed this situation to reach critical mass.
It is interesting to note that the Obama administration as with North Korea chose appeasement with the evil that rules Iran. Appeasement will not work there either and will need to be dealt with sooner rather than later.
Before I close this blog, I would like to point out that appeasement does not work with any facet of life and that is as evident in Congress as it is in North Korea and Iran.
The GOP's Appeasement of the Democrats in Congress has done nothing but embolden their nonsense and obstruction. The GOP squandered the victory in November because they wanted media approval more than they wanted do what #WethePeople voted for them to do.
Today pray for the North Korean situation, it is more serious than we believe.
