A 44-year-old man from Retford, Nottinghamshire, has been fined £621 for Fishing without a licence at the Glebe, Peckleton, Leicestershire on 21 April 2019
UK (STL.News) – The case was brought to Northampton Magistrates’ Court by the Environment Agency on 5 August 2019. Kevin Benson of Lime Tree Avenue, Retford, pleaded guilty and was ordered to pay a total penalty of £621. An annual fishing licence would have cost him just £30.
Fines up to £2,500
The penalty includes a fine of £442 for fishing without a licence, contrary to the Salmon and Freshwater Fisheries Act (1975), costs of £135 and a victim surcharge of £44.
