Indoor/Outdoor White Ceiling Fan is built for looks and to last.  This new updated model has been made to be more durable, powerful, and includes energy efficient lighting.  There are five weather resistant blades.  It has a white finish, and a nautical light kit design with frosted glass.  The powerful 172 mm x 14 mm motor is made for powerful air movement.  This has 5020 CFM (cubic feet per minute).  The downrod is included with this ceiling fan.  This outdoor ceiling fan can be mounted on either flat or sloped ceilings.  The bulbs for the light are included.  The Hampton Bay Seaport 52 In. Indoor/Outdoor White Ceiling Fan can be used both indoors or outdoors.  A coupling cover and canopy cover conceal exposed hardware.

Great Price

This outdoor ceiling fan has a great price.  A lot of outdoor ceiling fans are $300 or more, so this is considered an inexpensive fan.  However, the quality is great and it is built to last.  Here is one of the comments from a customer, "Worth the price. Good size, well designed, provides enough light."

No Pull Chain Extension

Some customers were disappointed that there wasn't a pull chain extension.  If you have a tall ceiling, you won't be able to reach the pull chain unless you attach another chain to it.  One customer explained, "Would be nice if they came with a pull chain extension. I have to buy some since our ceilings are high and the provided chains are only about 8 inches long."

Nice White Color

The Hampton Bay Seaport 52 In. Indoor/Outdoor White Ceiling Fan has a nice white color.  Although some customers thought this fan may not look good on a white ceiling or near white trim, most of the customers thought that this ceiling fan would look great on a ceiling that matched the fan.  Also note that the glass around the light has a white look too.  Here is one of the comments on the color, "I think they're beautiful and the run so smoothly. I was worried that the glass on the globe would be yellowish, but it's not, it's bright white. The fans are very bright white too, so if you have a creamy white ceiling or trim around it, it may clash."

No Remote Control

This outdoor ceiling fan does not come with a remote control.  If you have a tall ceiling, you may find it hard to turn the fan off and on without a remote control.  Some customers said that you could use a remote control from a different fan, but others thought this wasn't true.  All in all, just keep in mind that you won't receive a remote control with the Hampton Bay ceiling fan.

Has a Light

Not all outdoor ceiling fans come with lights.  It is an extra bonus that this fan doesn't only come with a light, but it takes two light bulbs.  Some customers were worried that it wouldn't give off enough light, but the two bulbs ensure you that it will give off plenty of light.  Here is one of the comments, "I love that they came with LED light bulbs. I was worried they wouldn't give off enough light for reading but having two bulbs makes it plenty bright."

Description Says It's Damp/Wet Rated

This ceiling fan can be used outdoors, but the description does not make it clear if it can be used in places exposed to the weather.  Most ceiling fans will say if they are damp rated or wet rated, but this fan does not.  A coupling cover and canopy cover conceal exposed hardware, so all the hardware would be protected from the weather.  The blades are also weather resistant, so there is a good chance that this is wet rated. 

Includes a Downrod

This outdoor ceiling fan comes with a downrod.  The downrod is for if you want the ceiling fan to drop down lower.  Not many ceiling fans come with a downrod, so this is a nice feature.  The downrod is made from metal and is rust proof.  Because it is rust proof, this is another sign that this ceiling fan is probably wet rated.  

Has Five Blades.  The More Blades, the Slower It Moves

The Hampton Bay Seaport 52 In. Indoor/Outdoor White Ceiling Fan has five blades.  Although customers commented that this ceiling fan blows a lot of air, it is true that the more blades there are, the slower it will run.  This is because the blades had weight to the fan, and it cannot spin as fast.

Easy To Install

Customers commented that this outdoor ceiling is very easy to install.  Here is one of the comments,"I ordered two of these for our back porch. It took two if us a little over an hour to install both. They look beautiful on our white ceiling."

No Color Choices

Some ceiling fans give you color choices, but this fan doesn't.  There weren't any customer comments about this, but it is something to keep in mind.  If you don't like the color white, there aren't any other colors to choose from.

Great Quality

Despite its few flaws, this ceiling fan has great quality.  Here is one of the comments from a customer who had an electrician install the fan, "My electrician said that lately fans coming from Lowes, home depot and other large suppliers are just terrible fans. He said the he measures the amount per pound of pressure on each screw and bolt when installing to make sure he puts them in perfectly even and they all wobble, shake and tick. He advised me to go to a lighting store and buy a $300 fan. I needed 2 for the back porch and I just couldn't bear to spend $600 on fans. So I ordered these in hopes that they'd be okay. He installed them and said they are awesome fans. He took note of the name and brand to recommend them to others."

Indoor/Outdoor White Ceiling Fan is an updated model built with more durable materials, energy efficient lighting, and a powerful motor.  This fan has five weather resistant blades.  It was made unclear by the description of this product if the entire fan is weather resistant and wet proof, but it is for sure damp proof.  It has a white finish, which a lot of customers liked.  But keep in mind that if you don't like this color there aren't any other color choices.  A nice feature is that this outdoor ceiling fan comes with a light and two bulbs.  Not all fans come with a light, so this is definitely a bonus.  Customers commented that this ceiling fan provided plenty of light since it has two bulbs.  Another nice feature is that this fan comes with a metal, rust-proof downrod.  Once again, not all ceiling fans come with that.   Usually you need to buy a downrod if you want to make your ceiling fan drop down lower.  But that is not the case with this fan.  

Keep in mind that the Hampton Bay Seaport 52 In. Indoor/Outdoor White Ceiling Fan does have a few flaws.  It does not come with a remote control, nor a pull chain extension.  This means that you cannot operate this ceiling fan unless you pull on the chains.  But because the chains are so short, you will probably have to make your own chain extension.  Another disadvantage is that this ceiling fan has five blades.  The more blades there are, the slower it runs.  However, there weren't any comments left about it being slowed down due to the added blades, so perhaps this isn't too big of a deal.  All in all, this is a great product to purchase.  It is easy to install, it received mostly positive feedback, and it is at a great price.
