How Do Mobile Tournaments Work?

Once you choose “Tournaments,” you'll see the MTT lobby showing filters at the top and matching tournaments below. These filters let you include and exclude games based on buyin level, tournament status, betting structure, and other criteria.

The list of tournaments shows the name of each tourney, its buyin, the status of the event (i.e., registering, finished, etc.), when it starts, and the number of people registered.

Going back to the filters for a moment, we notice that they're set up as checkboxes. You can mark whichever value or range of values you want, and you can select multiple boxes. Each filter has a box labeled “All,” which basically turns off filtering for that criteria.

We decided to filter by “Tournament Type” and ticked the box marked “$100K Guaranteed.” This winnows the tournaments displayed to just the $100K Guaranteed and all satellites and sub-satellites associated with it.

To go to the lobby for a tournament, choose it from the list. Now you'll be able to see more details about it, like the length of the late registration period and the starting chip stack. This is what the lobby looks like for the $100K Guaranteed:

Entering a tournament is as simple as pressing the red “Register” button. A box appears, showing your current balance and the amount you need to pay to join. Be aware that you can only have one tourney table active at a time. If all looks good, hit the “Confirm” button to finalize your registration.

If you've entered several events and don't wish to become confused, especially given the single-table limit, there's a “My Tournaments” section that lists all the MTTs that you've registered for. To go there, open up the top-left menu and select the appropriate option.

Click on the tournament within the “My Tournaments” screen to go to the tournament lobby. You'll see an “Unregister” button, which you can use if you're having second thoughts and want to unregister the event before it begins. This takes up most of the display, at least on smaller screens, but you can scroll down to view more tournament info.

Prizes, blind levels, breaks, and tournament memo all have their own tabs. Expand each tab in the accordion by pressing the “+” symbol on the right and hide it by clicking on the “-”.

That's basically all there is to registering for a mobile poker tournament at Bovada, Ignition, or Bodog. When the time comes, your table will pop up, and you'll be able to play just as you would expect.

What Tournaments Are Available?
