Coolest Most Innovative Gadgets in July 2017
No, this isn’t going to be your typical tech list, there’s not one smartphone included! Seriously, after all, we all know how inseparable we’ve become with that tech. But, what about other walks of life, often they go unspoken of, even though they too are dominated by tech. Be prepared to be wowed….
Motiv Ring
Next up we have a new take on the fitness tracker, called the Motiv Ring. Apparently, Motiv has been working on this next of our cool gadgets for five years, in a bid to get it’s size down and increase battery life. It now appears that they’ve done it, as this Motiv Ring is ready to be placed on your finger with no loss of functionality.
What does it offer? Packed into this little piece of tech is a fully featured fitness tracker, giving you a heart rate sensor, sleep tracker, pedometer, and more. With it comes an app, for which you can upload stored data for later viewing. Additionally, it can be worn for up to five days without charge. Only having to leave your finger, to sit on a small charger which fits your keychain.
Sony Bravia A1E OLED TV
The television, the stalwart of the home, is now as commonplace as the washing machine, and sofa. In fact, for the vast majority, this gogglebox, is a must have, and only the best is an option. If you fit that description, the first of our cool gadgets is the Sony Bravia A1E.
After a 9-year absence from the OLED TV scene, Sony is back; however, this time offering something much bigger than an 11-inch screen. Now, you have a choice of 65 and 55-inch screens, which have almost no bezel surrounding them. And that means two things, one, no speakers, and two, this beauty is 4K! Yes, you read that correctly ‘No Speakers’, which begs the question, where does the sound come from?
That’s via the screen itself; Sony has placed rear mounted ‘exciters’ on the TV which vibrate the A1E’s screen. Now, this isn’t new, however, Sony’s ability to create Stereo audio using it is. As for 4K, you can expect sharp, colorful, and gorgeous looking visuals whether watching movies or gaming. The problem, however, is, like all top-of-the-line cool gadgets, this one will set you back £3,500, $4,000 or AU$5,300.
Powervision PowerEgg Drone
No matter where you are, someone near you owns a drone. Cheap, mid-range or high-end all do mostly the same, they fly. However, if you are looking for something different how about Powervision’s PowerEgg, it’s a drone with a difference. According to the manufacturer, it has the world’s first gesture controllable remote, meaning you can operate it with a single hand. How does that work?
Thanks to a suite of motion sensors the one-handed remote, allows the drone when in flight to be manipulated by gestures. These actions, enable a user to command the PowerEgg to move up-down, left-right, and conduct certain maneuvers. Additionally, Powervision has taken into account that some of its users may be new to drone flight. As such, a single button press enables the PowerEgg to take off without a fuss.
LG Hub Robot
Think smart homes, Amazon Echo, and Google Home, and you can probably already guess what this the next of our cool gadgets has to offer. However, there’s something unique about how LG has approached this tech; its device has a face. Using Amazon’s Alexa assistant, its facial expressions change depending on what it’s saying or the program, it’s running. Additionally, it can play music, order food, play games, answer questions, and control connected home appliances.
Along with the main LG Hub Robot, comes a collection of smaller/baby hubs that can find a place around the home. One use would be to monitor a child’s activities, read stories, and more. In the near future, it’s thought LG will update its software with voice recognition. This will enable it to differentiate between family members, and prevent access to certain options/features.
Griffin Connected Toaster
Sticking with a connected theme is the Griffin Connected Toaster, it will apparently offer you perfect toast. How will it do that? To start with, it comes with a companion app. In which you can set preferences such as how golden you like your slices. Once entered, and this last of the cool gadgets becomes connected via Bluetooth, it will alert you when your toast is ready.
Along with your personal preferences, you can set a profile for the whole family. Meaning, each and everyone can benefit, from a perfect buttery slice every morning.
