Spotify India launch was long coming; while there were many rumors and reports in the past, nothing materialized yet. However, things are happening faster than expected and latest we hear is that the company is on the verge of bringing their service to India. The launch is scheduled to take place as soon as January 31st.  The company's Terms and Conditions page on their website lists the effective inclusion of India which will become effective as of January 31, 2019. This is surely a surprise launch from Spotify. The company has recently signed a content deal with T-Series to bring Indian content to the platform, which was our first clue. However, launching the service doesn't mean success. Spotify will face stiff competition from home-grown platforms like Saavn, Gaana, Amazon's Prime Music among others. Apart from T-Series, Spotify is yet to sign deals with Sony and Warner Music for full-blown content availability in India, so if Spotify is dead serious about January 31st launch, things should happen fast.
