Vivo turned a lot of heads when it introduced the Vivo Apex concept smartphone back in the Mobile World Congress 2018. The device offers a lot of futuristic features like a completely bezel-free display (more than 91% screen-to-body ratio), a popping out front camera, an on-display fingerprint scanner, and a lot more.

Apparently, the device is not going to remain a concept for long. According to the latest report, Vivo is going to launch the Vivo Apex come June 12 in Shanghai, China. The company has officially announced that it is holding an event on the said date where it will announce the Vivo Apex. Whether or not the company opts to stick with the name Apex or it comes with a new name is still unclear.

Coming to the specifications of the device, the Vivo Apex features a 5.99-inch Full HD+ OLED display with the fingerprint scanner embedded right underneath it. There’s a dual camera setup at the back and a popping out camera for taking selfies. The company had to place the front camera in a popping out mechanism to ensure as much screen estate as possible. To add to the features of the display, it also doubles as the earpiece and loudspeaker which are placed beneath it.

Under the hood, we get a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 chipset coupled with up to 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage which can further be expanded with the help of an external SD card.

As of now, there is no word on the price of the device. That said, it is pretty much going to fall in the mid-range to flagship lineup of Android smartphones. The company might also opt to launch it in a limited edition.
