Honor 10 full review: Everything you need to know

Huawei has launched a new smartphone dubbed the Honor 10. The company put the device on pre-order the moment it unveiled it and that’s a pretty good thing because the users now won’t have to wait for those annoying flash sales in order to get their hands on the phone.

Looking at the price, the Honor 10 appears to be a more affordable version of the Honor View 10 which carries a price tag of around $445.

Honor 10: Full specifications

Starting things off with the display, the Honor 10 has a 5.84-inch Full HD+ screen with a 19:9 aspect ratio and a notch at the top giving out a resolution of 1,080 x 2,280 pixels and a pixel density of 423 pixels per inch. Just like the View 10, the fingerprint scanner sits at the chin of the Honor 10 as well.

Powering the device is a powerful Kirin 970 chipset coupled with 6GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. There is, however, no scope of storage expansion as the device does not have support for an external SD card. Though the internal memory would suffice the needs of many, if you want more storage, there is a variant with 128GB of internal memory available too.

The device runs on Android 8.1 Oreo with EMUI 8.1 on top.

Moving to the cameras of the device, the Honor 10 has a dual camera setup at the back. There is a 16MP color sensor with an f/1.8 aperture and a 24MP black & white sensor. At the front, we get a 24MP sensor with an f/2.0 fixed-focus.

Both the front camera and the rear cameras feature AI functionalities that would help you capture the perfect shot with a wide variety of fine-tuning options available. The AI would automatically identify the scene and would adjust the conditions accordingly. There is a Pro mode available as well, just in case you want to take full advantage of the camera’s capabilities.

Coming to the battery, the Honor 10 packs in a decent 3,400 mAh battery with 4.5A fast charge. Thankfully, there is a USB Type-C port this time around. The device boasts of an impressive 22.5 W of charging power which would provide for 50% of charge in just a matter of 30 minutes or so. Adding to the list of the goods, the Honor 10 has support for a 3.5mm headphone jack. The device is available in Black, Grey, Mirage Blue, and Mirage Purple color variants. The back of the Honor 10 flaunts those shiny reflections, just like the ones found on the Huawei P20 lineup of smartphones.

The device is kept at a decent price of CNY2,600/$415/€335 if you want to get the 64GB variant. For those who want some extra memory, there is a 128GB variant available which would cost you CNY3,000/$480/€390.
