This game deserves its number 1 spot because of its amazing gameplay combined with staggering Graphics that make you really feel like you are driving at breakneck speeds.

2. Modern Combat 5

Considering that this game previously cost 7-12 dollars (depending on where you live) on the app store, the fact that Gameloft made it into a ‘freemium’ (free, with in-app purchases) game should be a great thing for people who couldn’t afford it or weren’t willing to spend the money on it. A thrilling storyline, combined with stunning graphics and innovative controls make this game a must-download for any opportunist who wishes to take up the mobile FPS challenge – not to mention the excellent multiplayer that lets you play with thousands around the globe.

3. Crossy Road

Crossy Road (4.5/5) is one of those games you pick up and play for 10-20 minutes, then close it due to frustration or boredom. That’s not to say that this is a boring, anger-generating game – instead is one of the best time-wasters available right now on the Play Store due to its ease of gameplay, small download size and the fact that it can run on virtually every Android device on the market right now. Its cute, boxy graphics and bright colours, coupled with its addictive Frogger-like gameplay make Crossy Road a must-download.

4. Candy Crush Saga’

For a game that’s been out almost 5 years now, Candy Crush Saga (4.4/5) is probably the mobile game that stole most of our time during bus and train rides to school or work. The vibrant graphics and glimmering candy combined with the fact that any Android device can run this game makes it a blast for any Android user. The easy-to-learn but hard-to-master feeling is very evident in this game, making it an addictive choice for the bored phone user who wants a time-waster on hand.

5. QuizUp

QuizUp (4.3/5)lets you play quizzes against others around the world in whatever topic interests you – and there are thousands of topics in this game. If there is something you are passionate about, test your skills against other passionate players and show them who’s boss. Loading times are fairly quick for an online game, and the layout and user interface is easy to understand and use, making this a great game for anyone. Take note that an internet connection is always required to play QuizUp, so if you have a limited data plan, or no data at all, this may not be the game for you… although, there’s nothing stopping you from playing over WiFi!
