Get ready to explore the wonders of the night sky at the Bay Area Discovery Museum in Sausalito in their newest traveling exhibit, My Sky. Created in collaboration with NASA, My Sky brings the far-off phenomena of the sky—like the moon, stars, and sun—closer than ever. It opens this Saturday, September 22, 2018!

Visitors will experience three unique exhibit spaces filled with interactive activities that encourage children to have fun and become active "doers" of science by exercising their observation skills, making predictions, and noticing patterns. Together, families will engage with the sky above them in new ways.

In a skate park, children can create a human sundial and watch as their shadow changes throughout the course of a simulated day. In a child's bedroom, visitors can make a wish on a star of their choosing, or use a Moon-Earth model to make the different phases of the Moon appear through the bedroom window. Outside in the backyard, a campfire scene is set up; children can explore a topographically accurate scale model of the Moon in a giant Moon Dome, or sit around a fire and use a telescope to see the stars and planets in their real-time position in the sky.

My Sky opens at BADM on Saturday, September 22, 2018 and runs through Sunday, January 6, 2019. My Sky was produced by Boston Children's Museum in collaboration with Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory and NASA.

Admission to the My Sky is included in general museum admission: $13.95 for babies ages 6–11 months and seniors 65+ and $14.95 for children 1–17 and adults 18–64.

The Bay Area Discovery Museum is located at 557 McReynolds Road in Sausalito, at the foot of the Golden Gate Bridge. They're open Tuesday–Friday from 9 am–4 pm, Saturday from 10 am–5 pm, and Sunday from 9 am–5 pm.
