This is one of my favorite recipes, its easy and super simple. General Tso Chicken is a Chinese cuisine and it is simply delicious. Hope you enjoy this recipe and find it very easy to make. This chicken main dish is a sticky and spicy flavor dish.
Chicken
- 4 Cups of Vegetable Oil
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp black pepper
- 1 Egg
- 2 Lbs of Chicken breast or Skinless Chicken Thighs
- 2 Cups of Cornstarch
- 2 Cups of Flour
Sauce
- 1 Tbsp of Minced Garlic
- 1 Tsp of Red peppers
- 2 Tsp of Orange Zest
- 1/2 Cup of Sugar
- 1/2 of Ground ginger
- 3 Tbsp Chicken Broth
- 1 Tbsp Rice Vinegar
- 1/4 Cup Soy Sauce
- 2 Tsp Sesame Oil
- 1 Tbsp of Vegetable Oil
- !Do Not mixed with the ingredients above!
- 1/4 cup of Water
- 1 Tbsp of Cornstarch
Instructions
- Heat vegetable oil for frying
- Beat egg, mix with chicken, pepper, and salt
- Mix 2 cup of cornstarch with 2 cup of flour
- Dip chicken in the flour mixture and then drop the chicken the hot oil
- Cook chicken until golden brown and set aside on towel to drain
- Heat 1 tsp of vegetable oil in Wok or Skillet on high heat grill minced garlic, orange zest, and red pepper seeds for about 20 secs
- Add sugar, ginger, chicken broth, vinegar, soy sauce, sesame oil, and veggie oil, bring to a boil for about 4 minutes
- Dissolve 1 Tbsp of cornstarch into 1/4 cup of water, mix well and then add to sauce until thickening
- Reduce heat and add fried chicken to the sauce
Notes
- If your sauce does not thicken as much as you want repeat cornstarch mixture.
