Common Chefs Cafe | Who Says There’s No Nice Cafe In The North?

Media Review at Common Chefs Cafe

Do you have friends who stay in the North? My friends have been complaining that there’s no good cafe in the North. Says Who?! Here’s one hidden gem right here in Sembawang. Common Chefs Cafe is hidden just opposite the famous Sembawang White Bee Hoon and a stone walk from Sembawang Shopping Centre. It is not difficult to find food which is tasty and at wallet-friendly prices. And what’s the thing that we love? There is no GST and no service charge at Common Chefs Cafe.

It’s stretchy, melty, and it’s delicious. The best mozzarella cheese for a killer cheese pull is one that’s soft and, of course, melts well. The Shepherd’s Pie is loaded with hidden cottage meat pie of minced pork, mushrooms and onions and homemade mashed potatoes. The cheese and minced pork were a well balanced savoury combination with the delicious soft mash potatoes.

Life is always better with tacos. What we have going on here is smoky paprika prawns layered on mesclun salad topped with tomato concasse that is heavy with Common Chefs’ special Mexican mayonaise and topped with black raisins. Wrapped in a wheat tortilla with a wedge of lime squeezed over the top. That’s not all, it also comes with house corn tortilla chips on the side.

Full Breakfast Wazza at S$12.

Can you guys spot what’s missing in this set? The truffle tater tots! Sadly, it was sold out during lunchtime. And gotten curly fries with truffle mayo dipping as a replacement. The curly fries tasted similar to McDonald’s twister fries. If you miss McDonald’s twister fries, you’ll definitely love this!

The Richman burger is served with addictive hot melting cheddar cheese drizzled on top of a savoury chorizo patty with sauteed mushrooms, caramelised onion, scrambled eggs and sandwiched between two pieces of soft homemade brioche buns.

Rachel’s verdict: “Delicious food, good service and excellent value for money. My favourite dish is Full Breakfast Wazza. Well-worth a visit. ”
