Korean Food

I love trying foods from different cultures and the Continent of Asia is responsible for some of my favorite foods. The combinations of flavors and spiciness is something that I find myself craving. Having lived in Raleigh, North Carolina for a little under two years I feel a little disappointed with myself that I have not taken the time to explore many of the different cultural Food experiences that are available here. With this thought weighing on my mind,I recently confided in a friend that since moving here I have not had any Korean food, like NONE! Thankfully she knew exactly where to take me to take me to ease my troubled mind, SEOUL GARDEN.
The Korean Fried Chicken wings took longer then the other dishes to come out but it was well worth the wait! The chicken is made to order, double fried, and coated with a red spicy sauce. This dish is paired with white rice.
We went during lunch time and the Bento boxes were only $12-14. They all include salad, white rice, 1 piece of sushi, fried vegetables, a fried cream cheese stuffed pepper, and your choice of meat. I chose the spicy pork.
WHAT IN THE WORLD IS KIMCHI!/?
I kept hearing so much about Kimichi before I ever tried it. Then when I did try it, I still didn't quite understand what it was. It is a typical side dish that you will see brought before your meal so I thought I would dedicated a few lines to help readers understand what it actually is.
Kimchi is made from fermented vegetables, typically cabbage. Which mean it is loaded with vitamins A, B, and C. It is full of flavor being seasoned typically with ginger, chili powder, and garlic. It adds a bit of spice and bold flavor to your meal. I personally like to mix it with my white rice but many people enjoy it on its own as an appetizer.
