Drink of the month: Snake in the grass 🐍

The Cowfish Sushi Burger Bar just blew my mind with there unique selection of hand crafted cocktails. As soon as you step inside The Cowfish, you realize that you are not at your typical run of the mill restaurant. The dining room is covered in funky retro pop art and the music that is playing, well it's not music at all. It is actually random and I mean random Japanese phrases being spoken and then translated into other languages.
To me, the menu is a collaboration of quirky dishes based on the idea of what would happen if a fish and a cow had a baby. The food concepts are outstanding especially considering its somewhat of a chain restaurant.
You can tell that whoever came up with there cocktail menu not only understood how flavors mesh, but they also knew how to entice there reader. The name of the Drink pictured above, is called Snake in the Grass. This of course immediately caught my attention and was among a list of other unique drinks such as Rockn' The Stache, The Hot Stoner, and Skinny Gonzles.
Lately, I've been on a Moscow Mule kick especially since my husband bought these awesome Starbucks copper mugs. So when I read that this drinks consisted of ginger beer, Ketel One vodka , and Freshly Squeezed Lime I was all for it! Then, my skepticism kicked in because it also consisted of jalapeno lemon grass. Now, I love anything spicy and I do enjoy jalapeno margaritas, however I am not sure I want spicy mixed with my already spicy ginger beer. Also, isn't lemon grass what extremely skinny health conscious celebrities eat?
With all these thoughts floating through my mind I wasn't sure if this was the drink for me, especially when I read they have there own rendition of a Moscow Mule called, Moscow Muleshine. I eventually did decide after dissecting every cocktails specifications and taste factor on a scale of 1 to 10 with my waiter, to give Snake in the Grass a try. Like I said, mind blown!!
The drink had a sweetness with a huge bite from the ginger and jalapeno lemon grass. The flavors all melted in your mouth yet with each sip I would experience something new. The bartender was definitely heavy handed when it came to the Kettle One but it wasn't something I could initially taste, but I felt it.
The Snake in the Grass is the type of drink that I would go to a restaurant for and wait 30 mins in line just to drink the drink, and I'm talking about even if I wasn't ordering food. So I encourage to taste and experience what I did, and try the drink of the month- Snake in the Grass.
