Jean Alberti culinary passions are embodied in his business decisions

Jean Alberti culinary passions are embodied in his business decisions. His belief in mealtime excellence led to venture partnerships that created heralded restaurants in the United States, Hong Kong, Shanghai, Macao, and Shenzhen. His savoring of exquisite tea led him to establish a company dedicated to discovering and retailing the finest and rarest of authentic Chinese teas. In 2008, Mr. Jean Alberti was invited by the managing director of Ignite Media Group to help create Southern China’s first high-end gourmet print and online magazine; Tasting Kitchen (Now TK) is the glossy result. He is at once a renowned chef, restaurateur and a businessman of distinction.

All of his life, Mr. Jean Alberti has been at home in the kitchen. Raised in a restaurant family, he acquired a refined taste for food preparation. This genetic stamping, as it were, led to graduation with honors from the French Ecole Hoteliere in Alsace and a subsequent honoring as the “best apprentice in France.” He quickly moved through Michelin-starred restaurants in France and England before leapfrogging the Atlantic to become, at age 27, the executive chef of the Tower a notable Los Angeles, Calif., restaurant. His early success was a prelude to a sparkling career.

Mr. Jean Alberti work ethic and business sense were evident during the creation of his tea retailing company. The provocatively titled Wild & Bare Co. was built upon the expertise of Mr. Jean Alberti and selected tea masters. Together, they culled superbly crafted teas from ordinary ones. They searched out original tea farming clans in mainland China to acquire authentic tea of ancient lineage. They cultivated relationships in these outlying areas to assure future delivery of the superior product. In short, Mr. Jean Alberti rebuilt a local tea merchandising system into a global enterprise.

Not every successful business person can fill both conceptual and functional role
