An impromptu evening in Covent Garden

Sometimes the best evenings are the ones you haven’t planned! A few nights ago I met up with my gym buddy ‘Varsha’ and within 5 minutes radius we discovered some fabulous pop ups in Covent Garden. We started the evening with French-themed winter Cocktails literally a few minutes walk from Covent Garden station at The St-Germain Winter Bloom Pop Up bar. I generally associate flowers with summer but as we walked into this beautiful floral florist/bar with its sweet scent of flowers I was just blown away… it certainly gave me that christmassy feeling,  a great floral hideaway to enjoy cocktails with friends whilst escaping the hustle and bustle outside during this festive period, small but very cute and extremely Instagram friendly and what can I say about the drinks.. There’s something for everyone whether you opt for the festive twist on the classic St-Germain Spritz with intense floral, elderflower notes combined with citrusy elements and a hint of passion fruit or a more Christmassy pick like the cosy mulled Cidre Chaud and the sweet, spiced Hiver, or the refreshing ‘Late bloom’ with orange blossom cordial, they are all beautifully presented and if your a fan of elderflower then you will not be disappointed! We could have happily gone threw the whole menu. They also have wintery workshops, creative crafting and for those of you looking for a festive group activity or the perfect gift for a friend there’s the masterclasses. The pop ups only there till the 22nd Dec so if your strolling the streets of Covent Garden do pop in! To end the evening after a scrumptious peruvian feast at Lima Floral we made our way to the ‘Baileys Treat Bar’ it was opening day and that meant queuing, patience is a virtue! The wait was totally worth it… Love Baileys? Like Varsha and I? then you’ll be in the right place. There’s great options from hot drinks with Baileys Original Irish Cream, Baileys Chocolat Luxe and Baileys Almande, and to top them with you’ll find toppings such as gingerbread men, edible glitter, sprinkles and honeycomb! Or sip a yummy cocktails out of a chocolate reindeer. It’s vegan friendly.. lots of dairy/free options! We kept it simple and opted for Salted Caramel Baileys Espresso Martini’s, which hit the spot.. a great winter warmer & an end to a lovely evening in Londontown. Another snug pop up, and with its Alpine-theme neon signs, “candy wallpaper, message walls and an infinity mirror” makes it another fun venue to have a pittstop at over the Christmas period, running till 22nd December.
