Marasa Sarovar – Tirupati : Hotel Review

Tirupati is a divine destination that sees huge inflow of pilgrims all year around and what becomes a necessity here is availability of places to stay. Folks from near and far, after their travel journeys to reach here need a good place to refresh  and the only thing one would look for after the travel and as well as spending a few hours in the Tirumala temple itself for the darshan is a much needed rest and a comfortable stay ! Marasa Sarovar Premier – Tirupati from the Sarovar group of Hotels is one property that offers both comfort and luxury. On a family trip to Tirupati and though was here only for a one night stay – the hospitality was at its best !

What is striking about this hotel is that it is built on the concept of the 10 Avatars of Vishnu which one could see being represented at every section of this property. For instance, the Lotus Cafe represents the Narasimha Avatar, the Pool Courtyard representing the fish and thereby Water and so on. Very beautifully articulated and I couldn’t get pictures to show how each section looked but being here is an experience in itself.

The corridors, walls and the lobby of the hotel have the avatars displayed in the form of symbols or images and referenced in every possible way on how it translates in what we see across the property. Pretty impressive to see all this even before we checked in to our rooms.

Check-In was smooth and it took about 5 to 10 mins to get us our rooms while welcoming us with a drink. It was late afternoon and we decided to grab lunch at their restaurant – ‘Krishna’ which is primarily a concept of Thali (Meals) Restaurant. Unfortunately it was closing hours just about when we were there but they accommodated our request for dining in though they could not get us the Thali , we ordered a few breads and vegetarian mains from the Ala Carte menu. Food was average and could have been better but we were so hungry to even contemplate other options so went with it and it was closing time for them to – so they get the benefit of doubt !

Rooms were neat and tidy. Well maintained and the property is fairly new I believe. We had reserved two premium rooms for the entire family, while one had a view of the Pool and the Cafe the other opened up to a view of an adjacent hillock. Good amenities provided. Snack bar had chocolate, cookies, nuts and chips option. Kettle and regular tea/coffee sachets were provided and so was a locker. Bed was comfortable and perfect lighting and temperature control meant a perfect stay !

For the next meal we decided to try out room service while having food from the comfort of our rooms. This time food was great ! Paneer Wrap stood out for me !

The Breakfast Buffet in the morning at Lotus Cafe had a great spread on offer.Highlights for me – Chicken stew, Pongal, Fenugreek Water, Rosemary Potato, Omelettes and Muffins !

Scorching heat meant it was time to hit the pool especially for the kids ! Well maintained pool, clean water but no lifeguards on duty so its up-to individuals to take care.

The views from the hotel are incredible. Set across the backdrop of the Tirumala hills , it’s a pleasant sight all over.

There is a souvenir shop within the property as well where one can grab all that speaks about the spiritual land of Tirupati and Tirumala !

The hotel is conveniently located about a km or two away from where the road uphill to Tirumala starts. Check-out took bit of a time primarily because there were a lot of folks trying to check-in at the same time ! Overall – a great choice at Tirupati !
