The Importance of Customer Service

Today more than ever customer service is of the utmost importance to Business owners.  If you as a business want to set yourself apart from the competition and stay afloat during these tough times then you can not be lax in this area.  Customers are reluctant to spend their hard earned dollars and they certainly are not going to frequent a business that does not treat them as king.  As a business owner, you have to raise the bar for customer service. 

Better customer service will ensure that you retain the customers you already have.  A bird in hand is worth two in the bush and that adage is especially true in business.  The repeat customer is the most lucrative customer you can have.  You do not have to do anything except provide excellent service to this customer.

By the same token, a business owner can attract numerous new customers usually at a high cost only to lose them due to poor customer service.  You may as well throw money out the window if you are paying to attract business that you can not service.  It is much more wise to make your current customer base your focus.  Repeat business and word of mouth will help increase your customer support and your customer base.
